Role Overview
Associate Director, Advisory & Equity Capital Markets at First Abu Dhabi Bank. The role holder actively participates in all aspects of Corporate Finance transaction execution to achieve P&L targets in line with CIB strategy.
Role Purpose
Support the origination and execution of Corporate Finance transactions across M&A, IPO, equity capital markets, and selected debt advisory mandates while collaborating with Client Service and Product teams to deliver superior client outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Transaction Origination & Execution
- Support the origination and execution of Corporate Finance transactions, including M&A buy-side, sell-side, mergers, IPOs, equity capital markets activities, and selected debt advisory mandates.
- Participate in all aspects of transaction origination and execution, including client interactions and deal management.
- Attend and contribute to client meetings in support of transaction origination and execution activities.
Transaction Materials & Analysis
- Prepare marketing presentations, pitch books, information memoranda, investor presentations, term sheets, and other transaction-related materials.
- Develop complex financial models and perform valuation analyses using methodologies such as DCF, LBO, DDM, public market multiples, transaction multiples, and merger models.
- Evaluate business plans, business models, and project reports to support business development initiatives and mandate execution.
Compliance & Administration
- Assist in financial, legal, risk, and compliance reviews, due diligence processes, and other transaction-related administrative activities.
- Implement departmental policies, systems, and procedures to ensure compliance with legislative and procedural requirements while delivering quality and cost-effective service.
- Maintain adherence to FAB and departmental policies, risk, credit, and compliance standards while ensuring timely execution of client transactions and deliverables.
Process Improvement & Collaboration
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of systems, processes, and practices, focusing on operational efficiency, cost reduction, productivity enhancement, and alignment with international best practices.
- Collaborate with Client Service and Product teams to deliver superior client service and support achievement of Corporate Finance business objectives.
Professional Development
- Define and achieve annual performance goals, identify development needs, and continuously enhance professional knowledge and technical expertise.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Commerce, or any related discipline.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in investment banking and/or mergers & acquisitions, preferably with a reputable international investment bank or Big 4 firm.
- Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Commerce, or any related discipline (optional).
- Training or time spent in London, New York, Singapore, or Hong Kong will be looked at favorably.
Skills & Competencies
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong financial modelling and PowerPoint skills.
- Solid understanding of accounting and financial statements.
- Ability to understand financing structures based on current and expected market conditions.
- Strong negotiating skills and ability to exercise good judgment, balancing needs of client, investors, and FAB.
- Ability to multi-task with solid credit, structuring, and LMA documentation expertise.
- Good inter-personal skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and adjust quickly to changing priorities.
