Role Overview

Associate – Corporate Tax at Aldar Properties, based in the United Arab Emirates. This role is open only to UAE Nationals.

Role Purpose

Play a key role in implementing corporate tax strategies, projects, and ensuring tax compliance within the corporate tax function of Aldar Group. Provide M&A support and expertise from a corporate tax perspective.

Key Responsibilities

Tax Compliance & Reporting

  • Participate in the end-to-end annual Corporate tax compliance process, ensuring the accurate and timely filing of all tax returns.
  • Assist in the review of the monthly tax provision calculation produced by the system, reconciling it to the ledger.
  • Prepare and review tax-related financial reports and disclosures, including tax provision calculations.
  • Stay updated on changes in domestic and international tax laws and regulations, ensuring the organization's tax practices remain compliant and current.

Corporate Tax Strategy & Execution

  • Collaborate with the AVP – Corporate Tax and wider tax team to execute comprehensive Corporate tax strategies aligned with the group's objectives and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct detailed reviews of deferred tax calculations for the group, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
  • Lead transfer pricing initiatives, ensuring compliance with international guidelines and recommending strategies to optimize the company's global tax position.

Mergers, Acquisitions & Corporate Transactions

  • Provide tax expertise during mergers, acquisitions, and corporate transactions, including due diligence, structuring, and post-transaction integration.

Regulatory & International Tax Matters

  • Assist in Country-by-Country Reporting (CBCR), Pillar 2 and Transfer Pricing (TP) initiatives in Direct / Corporate Tax.
  • Support Economic Substance Regulations (ESR) compliance.
  • Offer guidance on cross-border tax matters, including international tax planning, treaty analysis, and preparation of transfer pricing documentation.

Stakeholder Management

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, external advisors, and tax authorities to address tax-related inquiries, audits, and projects efficiently.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • Minimum 2+ years of experience in Accounting, mergers and acquisitions, and/or consultancy.
  • Experience in the real estate industry.
  • Knowledge of accounting standards, tax laws and regulations.
