Associate Analyst - Air Traffic Operations

Role Overview

Associate Analyst - Air Traffic Operations at General Civil Aviation Authority. The role supports air traffic control operations at the UAE ACC and Approach units to ensure safe, effective, and efficient ATC service delivery.

Role Purpose

Assist in controlling air traffic by managing flight data, monitoring systems, reporting incidents, and supporting the development and maintenance of air traffic services in the UAE Flight Information Region.

Key Responsibilities

Air Traffic Control Operations

• Perform flight data tasks using PRISMA for individual flight plans, repetitive flight plans, estimates, revisions, and coordination received from adjacent ANSP Units.
• Manage and operate PRISMA AWPCOM.
• Monitor CADAS and ROBEX and take necessary action when required.
• Observe traffic through the system and circuits, taking necessary action when faults occur.
• Occupy the position of DFLOW manager as required to ensure departure slots are allocated as generated by the system.
• Monitor Online Data Interchange window and coordinate with adjacent ANSP units accordingly.

Message and Communication Management

• Prepare and transmit locally originated message traffic to required addresses.
• Receive and re-route or distribute incoming messages as appropriate.

Safety and Incident Reporting

• Report failures, conditions, and procedures likely to constitute a risk to safety and regularity.
• Bring to the attention of ATCOs any occurrence or coordination that will affect operations.

Proficiency and Knowledge Management

• Maintain thorough knowledge and understanding of relevant parts of ICAO Documents, UAE AIP, and Local ATS Instructions (LATSI) for the UAE ACC.
• Maintain thorough operational knowledge and understanding of equipment and systems used for Air Traffic Services provision in the UAE FIR.
• Complete periodic proficiency checking in both theoretical knowledge and practical performance at regular intervals as determined by the GCAA.
• Obtain through pre-watch briefing relevant information concerning conditions affecting discharge of duties during the watch.

Development and Training Support

• Participate on an ad hoc basis in simulation exercises and development of procedures and airspace restructuring.
• Participate on an ad hoc basis in configuration, testing, and commissioning of new or upgraded ATC systems.
• Perform on-the-job training (OJT) of trainee ATCAs.
• Complete progress reports on trainee ATCAs and discuss contents with trainees, other OJTIs, and management.
• Perform other duties related to ANS commensurate with position.

Qualifications & Experience

• High School graduate.
• No previous experience required.
