Role Overview
Assistant Vice President Investigations at QNB, located in Doha, Qatar. The role is within the Operations Division, Operations Department.

Role Purpose
The incumbent will manage and supervise the remittance investigations function for the Group's retail and corporate clientele to ensure timely and accurate processing of outward and inward remittance enquiries. The role includes development of related processes to support departmental functioning and liaison with internal departments, leveraging available resources to streamline plans, processes, and strategies in alignment with overall Group strategy.
Key Responsibilities
Financial & Shareholder Management
- Assist the Vice President β Transaction Services in creating Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for performance monitoring and quality measurement of the Investigations Sub-section and monitor their achievements on a periodic basis.
- Implement KPIs and best practices for the AVP Investigations role.
- Demonstrate clear understanding of the factors behind the bank's financial and non-financial performance.
- Assist with the Section's annual budgeting process.
- Act within the limits of delegated powers and delegate authority to respective staff while monitoring the exercise of that authority.
Customer & Stakeholder Management
- Ensure provision of adequate and efficient service to internal customers (QNB domestic branches and internal departments) to help them serve external customers more effectively and increase external customer satisfaction levels.
- Develop Service Level Agreements (SLAs) with internal departments and units to achieve improvements in turnaround time (TAT) for addressing remittance-related queries and complaints.
- Build and maintain strong and effective relationships with all related departments to achieve Group goals and objectives.
- Provide timely and accurate data to external and internal Auditors, Compliance, Financial Control, and Risk when required.
Operations, Processes & Controls
- Ensure the existence of adequate and robust processes and controls (automated and manual) to prevent and detect negligence or fraud.
- Ensure adequate internal controls, policies, and procedures exist pertaining to handling of outward and inward remittance investigations and ensure complete compliance with applicable Qatar Central Bank (QCB) and International regulations.
- Ensure through system controls, supervisory review, and established approved procedures that necessary escalations are completed by subordinates.
- Approve transactions as per delegated authority.
- Ensure proper segregation of duties exists amongst staff within the investigations department.
- Coordinate completion of all reports, returns, and requests for information from QCB and other regulators with respect to investigations within specified time lines.
- Compile relevant Management Information Systems (MIS) on a periodic basis for Senior or Executive management as required.
- Constantly improve processes to keep operating costs as low as possible and improve operational efficiency, ensuring changes are communicated to relevant departments and personnel to timely update related procedures.
- Support International Branches and subsidiaries.

Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree from a university, preferably with a major in Marketing, Banking, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or Information Technology or a related field of study.
- At least 10 years of relevant experience, preferably within a highly rated international bank or banking operations, with at least 5 years at a managerial or supervisory position responsible for investigations, remittance functions, or related banking operations.
