Assistant Operations Manager-Transport

Role Overview

Assistant Operations Manager - Transport at Transguard Group, located at the company Headquarters in DAFZA (Dubai Airport Freezone).

Role Purpose

Manage daily operational delivery of the passenger transportation division, maintain regional operational KPIs, control costs, ensure fleet compliance, and lead area supervisors to achieve operational excellence and scorecard metrics across assigned zones.

Key Responsibilities

Operations Management

• Report to the Operations Manager with direct responsibility for daily operational management of the passenger transportation division and group transport.
• Manage area supervisors to deliver operational excellence in their respective areas.
• Deliver zone-wise scorecard metrics and operational KPIs.
• Manage daily operations ensuring drivers' daily schedules are planned and optimized for efficiencies.
• Perform changes in working conditions and use of vehicles to increase efficiency of operations and operations teams.

Financial Management

• Hold accountability for the operational P&L, monitoring annual spending against budget and reporting on variances.
• Deliver Cost Per Hour (CPH) across operations within budget.
• Conduct continuous analysis of vehicles, driver and schedule patterns to consolidate, improve and maximize usage to reduce transportation costs.
• Recommend cost control measures.
• Maintain cost control and operational metrics to achieve overall scorecard requirements for respective areas.

Customer & Stakeholder Management

• Execute vehicle scheduling, route planning and manage transport for employees.
• Work with business units to improve overall service to internal customers whilst maintaining desired performance levels for end-user TG clients.
• Manage transport suppliers by providing transport services, quotes for new routes and ad hoc requests.

Fleet Compliance & Risk

• Play a key role in TG fleet management with ground-level reporting and compliance inspections directly managed by the operations team.
• Work closely with the fleet and compliance team to ensure the highest level of compliance across the TG fleet.
• Implement fleet and operational policies and procedures for the Transport operations team, enforcing and upholding TG compliance.
• Manage the Transport Risk Register which identifies any issues and vehicle risks that are reported by Transguard staff.

People Management & Development

• Assess driver and staff performance, provide reports identifying their strengths and areas needing development.
• Train, appraise and motivate staff to ensure optimum performance and successful team management.

Innovation & Systems

• Lead the business unit in the deployment of smart routing and scheduling using GPS and TMS tools to their maximum benefit.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Logistics required.
• Minimum 5 years' experience in transport-related vocation.
• Experience in large fleet transport operations; passenger transport is an advantage.
