Role Overview

Assistant or Associate Professor in Statistics at Ajman University, Department of Mathematics and Sciences, College of Humanities and Sciences. Full-time position starting Fall 2026.

Role Purpose

Develop and deliver undergraduate Statistics education while conducting high-quality research, publishing in reputable journals and conferences, and engaging actively with industry, business, and university communities.

Key Responsibilities

Teaching & Curriculum

• Develop and teach undergraduate courses in Statistics.
• Engage in innovative and technology-based approaches to learning and teaching.
• Assess and track each student's progress, providing feedback to support ongoing success.
• Maintain relationships with students that are conducive to learning.
• Provide academic advising for students.
• Actively seek out methods, procedures, and resources to best achieve course and lesson objectives.

Research & Scholarship

• Conduct high-quality research in Statistics and publish research outcomes in reputable journals and conferences.
• Demonstrate a record of collaborative and interdisciplinary research.

Community & Industry Engagement

• Actively engage in promoting the growth of Ajman University.
• Actively engage with industry and business communities.
• Provide consultancy services to researchers and the business community.
• Establish and maintain effective work relationships across the organization and community.

Institutional Service

• Participate in committees at the departmental, college, and/or university levels as assigned.
• Ensure a respectful and culturally sensitive learning environment in all college-focused activities.

Leadership & Mentoring

• Motivate and inspire confidence in others (students and colleagues) to overcome limitations to personal growth and success.

General

• Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Experience

• Ph.D. from a reputable university.
• Outstanding teaching record.
• Outstanding research and publications record in top journals.
• Excellent record in community service and scholarly activities.

Skills & Competencies

• Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
• Conduct independent research and publish in reputable journals and conferences.
• Work effectively with diverse team members.
• Familiarity with the Credit Hour academic system.
• Knowledge of academic program planning and implementation.
• Familiarity with Learning Management Systems (LMS).
• Provide academic advising.
