The Department of Information Technology is part of the College of Engineering and Information Technology (CEIT) at Ajman University. The department offers a Bachelor of Science in Cybersecurity program and maintains collaborative relationships across multiple Information Technology programs.

Role Purpose

To lead research and teaching in Cybersecurity while supporting undergraduate education and fostering active engagement with industry and business communities. The successful candidate will contribute to the growth of Ajman University and the development of the Bachelor of Science in Cybersecurity program.

Key Responsibilities

Teaching & Course Development

• Develop and teach undergraduate courses in Cybersecurity and Computer Science.
• Engage in innovative and technology-based approaches to learning and teaching.
• Maintain relationships with students that are conducive to learning.
• Actively seek out methods, procedures, and resources to best achieve course and lesson objectives.

Student Support & Advising

• Assess and track each student's progress and give feedback to support ongoing success.
• Supervise student projects and thesis papers.
• Provide academic advising for students.

Research & Scholarly Activity

• Conduct high-quality research in Cybersecurity and publish research outcomes in reputable journals and conferences.
• Maintain an outstanding research and publications record.

Community & Stakeholder Engagement

• Actively engage in promoting the growth of Ajman University.
• Establish and maintain effective work relationships across the organization and community.
• Provide consultancy services to researchers and the business community.
• Actively engage with industry and business communities.

Learning Environment & Culture

• Ensure a respectful and culturally sensitive learning environment in all college-focused activities.
• Motivate and inspire confidence in others—students and colleagues—to overcome limitations to personal growth and success.

Governance & Administration

• Participate in committees at the departmental, college, and/or university levels as assigned.
• Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Experience

• Ph.D. from a reputable university.
• Outstanding teaching record.
• Outstanding research and publications record in top journals.
• Adequate experience in supervising student projects and thesis papers.
• Record of collaborative and interdisciplinary research (advantageous).
• Excellent record in community service and scholarly activities.

Skills & Competencies

• Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
• Supervise student work.
• Conduct independent research and publish in reputable journals and conferences.
• Work effectively with diverse team members.
• Knowledge of academic program planning and implementation.
• Familiarity with the Credit Hour academic system.
• Familiarity with Learning Management Systems (LMS).
• Provide academic advising for students.
