Role Overview
Alternate Site Manager at Amentum. This role co-manages day-to-day operations, maintenance, personnel, and services at an assigned location in accordance with contract requirements.
Role Purpose
The Alternate Site Manager co-manages the day-to-day operations, maintenance, personnel, and services in accordance with contract requirements. The role is jointly responsible for meeting work requirements, including scheduling of personnel, work supervision, and quality control when requested by the Site Manager. The ASM will be designated to serve in an extended absence of the Site Manager and have full authority to act for all functions relating to daily contract operation in the Site Manager's absence.
Key Responsibilities
Operations & Site Management
- Manage basic support services and accompanying labor force for assigned location.
- Co-manage team of USNs supervising skilled workers in multiple departments under the contract to ensure that all requirements are met as defined in the Performance Work Statement.
- Oversee scheduling of workloads with the various departments in accordance with operational and program requirements.
- Assure assigned tasks are performed within specified timeframes while meeting safety and quality standards as required by the program.
- Provide for sufficient and viable contract performance through effective leadership of the site.
Personnel & Team Management
- Co-manage any employee management issues that may arise.
- Supervise assignment of qualified personnel and schedule workload.
- Lead and manage a diverse workforce.
- Demonstrate ability to staff, organize, lead and manage personnel.
Compliance & Standards
- Ensure compliance with quality and safety/environmental standards.
- Maintain compliance with fire, safety, and environmental protection requirements.
- Ensure compliance with NFPA requirements.
- Provide input to the Site Manager/Customer on any issues relating to fire alarm and fire suppression contract requirements.
- Read, understand, and implement the general and specific operational, safety, quality and environmental requirements of all plans, procedures and policies pertaining to the job.
- Conform to the Amentum Quality Policy and carry out job activities in compliance with applicable Amentum Quality System documents and customer contracts.
Supervision & Quality Control
- Closely supervise equipment and material within assigned area of responsibility.
- Supervise all aspects of assignment of qualified personnel, scheduling workload, developing programs and procedures to satisfy customer requirements.
- Exercise discretion and make effective decisions.
Communication & Reporting
- Communicate new requirements, concerns, and issues to Site Manager/PMO for resolution.
- Provide input to Site Manager/Customer on any issues.
- Keep the Company, PMO, and military leadership apprised on current status of operations as required.
- Prepare official correspondence.
- Write routine reports and correspondence to management and/or the military.
- Submit timely reports as required.
Coordination
- Coordinate with on-base support.
- Coordinate with US government/military personnel to include host nation military personnel.
Safety & Quality
- Complete all training requirements and fulfill all self-aid/buddy aid responsibilities.
- Participate in emergency response tasks and serve on safety committees and teams.
- Develop and maintain a safe work environment.
- Consistently provide services that meet customer expectations.
Additional Duties
- Perform all other position-related duties as assigned or requested.
- Evaluate improvement suggestions.
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum three (3) years management experience.
- Minimum eight (8) years of experience in any of the following: facilities operations, asset visibility, material control/logistics, operations management, HVAC, maintenance, electrical systems, repair (OM&R), heavy equipment, security barriers, structures/locksmith maintenance, fire suppression systems, or fire alarm systems.
- Experience working with US government/military personnel to include host nation military personnel.
- NFPA certification and knowledgeable in NFPA requirements.
- Background displaying ability to staff, organize, lead and manage a diverse workforce larger than 40 people.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Associates degree or equivalent combination of academic/technical/military training and experience preferred.
- Experience managing personnel in a military environment or on a government contract overseas is preferred.

Additional Information
Clearance & Documentation
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a SECRET US Government Clearance. US Citizenship is required to obtain a SECRET Clearance.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a US passport and valid state driver's license throughout employment in this role.
- Ability to successfully pass the medical contract requirements and maintain compliance throughout the duration of deployment.
Work Environment & Physical Demands
- Typical office environment with no unusual hazards.
- Occasional lifting to 30 pounds.
- Constant sitting while using computer terminal.
- Constant use of sight abilities while reviewing documents.
- Constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication.
- Constant mental alertness.
- Expected to go around regularly to various shops on the contract and be exposed to outside elements to include weather.
- Willingness to work shifts and extended hours in support of 24/7 operations.
- Must possess planning/organizing skills and ability to work under deadlines.
- Must have ability to work well with others, to include the Government.
