Role Overview
Advisor Safety, Health & Environment (Site) at AECOM, based in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. You will develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive safety, health, and environmental programs across site operations while ensuring compliance with applicable regulations and fostering a strong safety culture.

Role Purpose
To lead and oversee safety, health, and environmental compliance and performance across site operations. You will identify and mitigate risks, investigate incidents, maintain regulatory documentation, deliver training, and drive continuous improvement in safety culture and performance metrics.
Key Responsibilities
Site Inspections and Risk Assessment
- Conduct regular site inspections and hazard assessments to identify potential risks and non-compliance issues
- Audit safety management systems and processes to ensure adherence to established standards and best practices
Policy Development and Implementation
- Develop and implement safety policies, procedures, and protocols aligned with UAE regulations and international standards
- Collaborate with site management and operational teams to develop emergency response and disaster management plans
Incident and Hazard Management
- Investigate incidents, accidents, and near-misses; analyze root causes and recommend corrective and preventive actions
- Prepare and maintain comprehensive safety documentation, records, and reports for regulatory compliance and internal review
Training and Awareness
- Deliver safety training and awareness programs to employees at all organizational levels
Monitoring and Continuous Improvement
- Monitor and analyze safety performance metrics and key performance indicators to drive continuous improvement
- Stay current with changes in safety legislation and industry standards applicable to site operations
Regulatory and Stakeholder Liaison
- Liaise with regulatory authorities and external stakeholders on health, safety, and environmental matters
Qualifications & Experience
- Proven experience of minimum 7 years in occupational health and safety advisory or management roles within industrial or construction environments
- Strong knowledge of UAE and GCC health and safety regulations, standards, and compliance requirements
- Proficiency in risk assessment methodologies, hazard identification, and incident investigation techniques
- Demonstrated expertise in developing and implementing safety management systems and procedures
- Familiarity with ISO 45001 or equivalent occupational health and safety management standards
Skills & Competencies
- Proficiency in safety management software
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
