Role Purpose

Install, service and repair temperature and air quality control systems throughout the hotel, maintaining all electrical and mechanical refrigeration and air-conditioning equipment to ensure optimal performance and compliance with technical regulations and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

Maintenance & Service

• Repair and maintain all electrical and mechanical refrigeration systems including freezers, fridges, ice makers, fan coil units and chillers.
• Maintain preventively all air-conditioning and refrigeration systems within the hotel.
• Ensure routine cleaning of fan coil units and air-handling unit filters.
• Check and maintain all defrosting systems and automation of ice makers.
• Overhaul air-conditioning and refrigeration equipment and systems.

Inspections & Monitoring

• Check performance of refrigeration systems and components.
• Verify all door closing systems on walk-in coolers and freezers, including door gaskets and latches.
• Check performance of air-conditioning and chilled water systems.
• Check all refrigeration oil levels and control of major repairs.

Operations & Compliance

• Work on maintenance requests from all departments.
• Carry out all works in accordance with country technical regulations and safety standards.
• Maintain strict control on venting of CFCs to atmosphere.

Collaboration & Administration

• Cooperate with all engineering colleagues in detection of failures and function setup of air-conditioning and refrigeration systems.
• Cooperate and inform Engineering Storekeeper on purchase of parts.

Qualifications & Experience

• Appropriate documented training from a technical or vocational institute.
• One year operating experience in a hotel engineering department.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and electrical schematics.
• VRF/VRV system experience is a plus.
