Role Purpose

This senior technical role is dedicated to recommending and implementing repairs for a wide variety of industrial and rotating equipment, including compressors and turbines. As a key workshop team member, you will plan and oversee complex repairs with limited supervision, manage the full lifecycle of equipment from inspection through reassembly, and mentor other employees in department-specific functions and processes.

Key Responsibilities

Mechanical Execution & Overhaul

• Document, erect, alter, install, align, repair, replace, disassemble, reassemble, move, and inspect most rotating equipment.
• Alter and overhaul rotors, turbines, disc and blade holders, shafts, sleeves, gears, couplings, and all other equipment necessary to complete jobs.
• Set up all equipment needed to complete jobs and use appropriate equipment, tooling, and specifications to perform primary functions.
• Demonstrate advanced knowledge and accuracy in using micrometers, indicators, calipers, gauges, and other required measurement tools.
• Accurately measure and record all critical clearances and dimensions on turbines, compressors, and associated machinery.

Quality, Safety & Documentation

• Read and comprehend engineering drawings, sketches, work scopes, and verbal instructions.
• Understand and process documentation such as inspection reports, photo logs, and hold tags.
• Maintain proficiency to successfully pass the annual dimensional inspection test.
• Promote safety and quality at all times, maintaining a clean and organized work area.
• Maintain continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.

Operations & Leadership

• Apply advanced knowledge of lifting, rigging, crane, and forklift operations.
• Work effectively in a team environment and help train other hourly employees in repair processes and procedures.
• Conduct yourself in a professional manner at all times when working with internal and external customers.
• Accept ownership over work performance, stay abreast of job knowledge, and pursue new skill development.

Qualifications & Experience

• High School Diploma or Equivalency.
• 5–8 years of experience specifically with rotating turbo machinery, including turbines, compressors, and other rotating equipment.
