Workshop Manager - Dubai

Role Overview

Workshop Manager – Dubai with Al Tayer Group, Dubai, UAE. The role supervises workshop function and assists the Service Manager to implement plans and programs to achieve service targets in terms of revenue, profit, and effective customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Management & Planning

• Develop and monitor on a monthly basis the schedule of work and associated budget for areas of responsibility.
• Monitor performance against budget, initiating corrective action where necessary to ensure workshop operations are conducted within agreed financial parameters.
• Recommend changes in standard labor time and recovery charges to higher authorities as and when required.

Operations & Workflow

• Establish and continuously review with Service Manager the workshop's structure, workflows, and job responsibilities to ensure work is organized and carried out in the most efficient and effective manner.
• Ensure smooth supply of parts to technicians and recommend to parts department for alternative sources of supply when parts are not available.
• Ensure all workshop equipment such as car wash and lifts are in proper working condition and periodic maintenance is carried out on these equipment.
• Ensure special tools availability and audit is conducted periodically.

Quality & Compliance

• Supervise the work of technicians to ensure that set workshop processes are followed so that workflow, quality standards, profit, and customer satisfaction index is maintained.
• Submit product quality feedback to Technical Support Specialist for sending reports to principals.
• Maintain repeat job register and give timely feedback to Team Leaders on the trend.
• Analyze the register and take corrective measures.

Cost & Safety Management

• Support service staff to ensure maintenance of tools is done on a timely basis to keep costs of business to minimum without compromising on the safety aspect.

Staff Development & Planning

• Guide and motivate subordinates to enhance performance and produce quality work.
• Ensure subordinates are continuously developed for higher level roles.
• Advise Team Leaders and technicians periodically about ways and means to improve technician productivity.
• Advise on implementation of manufacturer's warranty policy.
• Propose and implement yearly leave plan for workshop staff.
• Organize replacement wherever required.

Qualifications & Experience

• Graduate Degree or Diploma in Engineering (Mechanical/Technical) discipline and management qualification.
• Minimum 4 years of experience as a Workshop Manager.

Skills & Competencies

• Proficient in Autoline, Power BI, and Microsoft Excel.
• Strong technical expertise in workshop operations, warranty processes, and customer handling.
