Workshop Hand

Role Overview

Workshop Hand – Nabors. This is an hourly, rotational position in the district shop performing equipment preparation, maintenance, and repair of Tubular Running Services (TRS) equipment.

Role Purpose

Ensure TRS equipment is cleaned, inspected, repaired, and made job-ready prior to mobilization to customer locations, and receive, inspect, and service equipment returning from the field.

Key Responsibilities

Equipment Preparation & Maintenance

• Perform inspection, cleaning, and routine maintenance on TRS equipment.
• Assemble and test tools and equipment to ensure readiness for job site deployment.
• Document all maintenance and repair activities in accordance with company procedures.
• Troubleshoot equipment issues and perform minor mechanical repairs.
• Assist with staging and loading equipment for mobilization.

Shop & Warehouse Support

• Receive equipment returning from job sites, ensuring proper decontamination, inspection, and repair.
• Maintain shop cleanliness and organization, including proper storage of tools and parts.
• Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other shop equipment as required with proper training and certification.
• Ensure all shop activities comply with company safety and environmental standards.

Safety & Compliance

• Follow all company HSE policies, procedures, and safe work practices.
• Participate in safety meetings, toolbox talks, and incident reporting as required.
• Use appropriate personal protective equipment and follow lockout/tagout procedures.

Additional Duties

• Assist other technicians or departments as needed.
• Participate in training to maintain knowledge of TRS equipment and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications & Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• One to three years of experience in mechanical, shop, or oilfield operations preferred.
• Prior TRS or oilfield equipment maintenance experience preferred.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record preferred.

Certifications & Knowledge

• Forklift certification or ability to obtain certification preferred.
• Basic understanding of hydraulics, pneumatics, or rigging preferred.

Additional Information

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions

• Work in warehouse/shop environment that is not climate-controlled.
• Frequent standing, bending, lifting, and carrying heavy equipment.
• Exposure to noise, dust, grease, and outdoor elements.
• Lift 50 lbs frequently and up to 75 lbs occasionally with assistance.
• Work rotational schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
• Overtime as business needs require.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to use hand tools and power tools safely required.
• Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment (50 lbs+) regularly required.
• Willingness to work in a rotational schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
• Ability to work in non-climate-controlled warehouse/shop environment required.
