Role Overview

Welder API 6A Product at Saeed Raddad Group (Napesco BU), oil & gas manufacturing.

Role Purpose

Execute high-quality, code-compliant welds on critical pressure-vessel components and wellhead assemblies, applying corrosion-resistant cladding techniques and strict adherence to API Spec 6A standards while collaborating with NDT inspectors to deliver defect-free products.

Key Responsibilities

Welding Execution

• Perform high-quality welding and corrosion-resistant cladding/inlays on wellhead components, flanges, and valves per API Spec 6A.
• Apply SMAW, GTAW (TIG), GMAW (MIG), and FCAW techniques on carbon steel and specialty alloys including Inconel, stainless steel, and duplex.
• Prepare, clean, bevel, and fit up joints to ensure proper penetration and alignment before welding.
• Control pre-heat, interpass temperatures, and post-weld heat treatment (PWHT) as required for API 6A material classes.

Procedures & Documentation

• Read, interpret, and follow approved Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) and Procedure Qualification Records (PQR).
• Document welding activities, inspection results, and repair actions in accordance with company and regulatory standards.

Quality & Inspection

• Conduct visual inspections of welds to verify zero surface defects before NDT testing.
• Assist NDT inspectors with radiographic, ultrasonic, magnetic particle, and penetrant testing.
• Perform precise weld repairs when needed.

Equipment & Maintenance

• Maintain welding machines, holding ovens, and tools, ensuring all gauges are calibrated and equipment is in optimal condition.

Safety & Collaboration

• Promote safety and quality best practices within the welding team and across the department.
• Collaborate with engineering and inspection teams to deliver code-compliant welds on critical components.

Qualifications & Experience

• Diploma in Welding Technology or equivalent.
• Certified Welder under API 6A and AWS standards.
• Minimum 3 years of experience welding pressure vessels or wellhead components in the oil & gas sector.
• Proficiency with SMAW, GTAW, GMAW, and FCAW processes.
• Knowledge of carbon steel and specialty alloys (Inconel, stainless, duplex).
• Experience applying and monitoring pre-heat, interpass, and PWHT requirements.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, WPS, and PQR documents.
• Familiarity with visual inspection techniques and assistance in NDT methods.
