Role Overview

Waiter/Waitress - Pool and Beach at Waldorf Astoria Ras Al Khaimah, Hilton, Ras Al Khaimah.

Role Purpose

Deliver exceptional food and beverage service to guests at the pool and beach, creating memorable hospitality experiences while maintaining the highest standards of service quality and guest satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

Service Delivery

• Assist the captain or head waiter during service, remaining constantly available to support their direction.
• Provide high-level food and beverage service to guests and ensure guest satisfaction is met.
• Recite and promote the variety of menu items to guests.
• Take orders using point of sale procedures and close out checks accurately.
• Process guest checks, operate cash registers, make change, and prepare cash drops.
• Manage guest payments and understand all charges on accounts.

Sales and Promotion

• Contribute constantly to active promotion of in-house sales through optimal knowledge of all services provided by the hotel.
• Maintain knowledge of the opening hours and promotions of all food and beverage outlets.
• Review suggestions of the day before starting the shift.

Food and Beverage Standards

• Know and understand policies relating to food and beverage and others.
• Recognize good quality products and presentation.
• Check and improve all service standards established by the company.
• Demonstrate advanced knowledge of food and beverage preparation and service of various alcoholic beverages.

Preparation and Maintenance

• Clean all trolleys and pedestal tables.
• Polish and prepare mise en place of all cutleries.
• Fill sugar dispensers, mustard pots, toothpicks, and oil and vinegar recipients.
• Supply the restaurant with all linen.
• Follow the daily cleaning plan.
• Respect the closure plan of the restaurant.

Operational Support

• Provide assistance to staff when required during peak periods.
• Manage waste by reducing and recycling, and encourage staff to carefully use all resources.
• Attend mandatory meetings.
• Perform general cleaning tasks to adhere to health and safety standards.
• Keep work area clean and organized.
• Complete other duties as assigned by supervisor, such as assisting security with disorderly guests, within a reasonable framework.

Qualifications & Experience

• Advanced knowledge of food and beverage preparation and service of various alcoholic beverages.
• Advanced English language writing skills necessary for completion of requisitions, balance sheets, and vouchers.

Skills & Competencies

• Basic mathematical skills necessary to operate a cash register, make change, total guest checks, count total bank, prepare cash drops, total all other charges, and understand portion sizes.
• Ability to remember, recite, and promote the variety of menu items.
• Ability to operate a keyboard and point of sale procedures to pre-check orders and close out checks.
• Ability to stand and work in confined spaces for long periods of time.

• The holder of this position may be asked to take on tasks in addition to those stated, within a reasonable framework.
• This position may be required to perform a combination of supportive functions, with the percentage of time performing each function to be solely determined by the supervisor based upon the particular requirements of the company.
