Role Overview

Waiter/Waitress at Azure Restaurant, Waldorf Astoria Ras Al Khaimah, Hilton.

Role Purpose

Deliver exceptional hospitality and memorable guest experiences by providing professional food and beverage service, maintaining the highest standards of presentation and cleanliness, and actively promoting hotel services and in-house sales.

Key Responsibilities

Service Delivery

• Provide high levels of food and beverage service to guests and ensure guest satisfaction is met.
• Assist the captain or head waiter during service by remaining constantly at their disposal.
• Operate point of sale procedures to pre-check and order and close out checks.
• Recite and promote menu items to guests.
• Take and process guest orders accurately.

Sales & Promotion

• Contribute constantly to active promotions of in-house sales through optimal knowledge of all services provided by the hotel.
• Maintain knowledge of opening hours and promotions of all food and beverage outlets.
• Become acquainted with daily menu suggestions before starting the shift.

Setup & Maintenance

• Clean all trolleys and pedestal tables.
• Polish and prepare mise en place for all cutlery.
• Fill sugar dispensers, mustard pots, toothpicks, and oil and vinegar containers.
• Supply the restaurant with all required linens.
• Follow the daily cleaning plan and respect the closure plan of the restaurant.

Standards & Quality

• Know and understand policies relating to food and beverage service and others.
• Recognize good quality products and presentation.
• Check and improve all service standards established by the company.
• Manage waste by reducing and recycling and changing staff behavior to carefully use all resources.

Support & Coordination

• Provide assistance to staff when required during peak periods.
• Attend mandatory meetings.
• Perform general cleaning tasks to adhere to health and safety standards.
• Keep work area clean and organized.
• Complete other duties as assigned by supervisor, such as assisting security with disorderly guests.
• Take on other tasks as assigned in a reasonable framework.

Qualifications & Experience

• Advanced knowledge of food and beverage preparation and service of various alcoholic beverages.
• Advanced English language writing skills necessary for completion of requisitions, balance sheets, and vouchers.

Skills & Competencies

• Basic mathematical skills to operate a cash register, make change, total guest checks, count bank, prepare cash drops, total all other charges, and understand portion sizes.
• Ability to remember, recite, and promote variety of menu items.
• Ability to operate a keyboard and point of sale procedures.
• Ability to stand and work in confined spaces for long periods of time.
