Role Overview

Vice President, Fraud Prevention & Intelligence at Mashreq, Injaz-CXC-Fraud Prevention & Intelligence Division, Client Experience & Conduct Group.

Role Purpose

Lead the design, implementation and delivery of fraud prevention and detection strategies across all parts of the bank. Own complex financial investigations into fraud, asset identification and seizure, and forensic evidence gathering, while supervising a team of fraud examiners and collaborating with internal banking teams, law enforcement and prosecutors.

Key Responsibilities

Strategy & Prevention

• Implement fraud prevention and detection strategies across all bank divisions.
• Minimize fraud risk through effective utilization of complex fraud detection tools.
• Recommend measures to reduce business risk and prevent financial and fraud losses that impact overall business performance.

Investigations & Forensics

• Plan and manage financial investigations dealing with financial fraud.
• Identify monies and assets fraudulently obtained.
• Identify and recommend seizure of personal and business assets.
• Apply forensic skills in account and computer forensics to gather irrefutable evidence during investigations.
• Apply interview and interrogation skills in investigations of staff.

Team Leadership

• Lead and supervise a team of fraud examiners in complex and sensitive fraud investigations.

Stakeholder Collaboration

• Work closely with bank personnel, law enforcement and prosecutors.

Reporting & Documentation

• Prepare investigation reports that clearly document findings and the financial impact of fraud.
• Identify and recommend process improvements based on investigation outcomes.
