Role Overview
Vice President & Enterprise Architect β Wholesale Banking Group at RAK BANK. The role is based at the bank's operations.
Role Purpose
Drive the architecture, design, and implementation of next-generation digital wholesale banking platforms by combining deep subject matter expertise in Treasury and Transaction Banking with technical expertise in digital banking, microservices, APIs, and cloud technologies to deliver scalable, secure, and future-ready solutions aligned with the bank's digital transformation agenda.
Key Responsibilities
Architecture & Design
- Define end-to-end architecture for Treasury and Transaction Banking platforms, including payments, liquidity, cash management, trade finance, and capital markets.
- Design modern digital banking platforms leveraging microservices, APIs, and event-driven architecture.
- Lead design for surround systems integration connecting CRM, ERP, regulatory reporting, AML/KYC, and risk systems.
Enterprise Standards & Compliance
- Ensure architectural alignment with enterprise standards, security, and compliance requirements.
- Provide advisory on architecture trends in global wholesale banking and regulatory frameworks.
Subject Matter Expertise
- Act as SME for Treasury front, middle, and back office systems and Transaction Banking encompassing payments, collections, cash management, liquidity management, and trade finance.
- Manage vendor engagements for treasury and transaction banking solutions.
Cloud & Technology Strategy
- Drive cloud-native adoption on AWS, ensuring scalable, resilient, and cost-optimized architectures.
- Enable API-first strategy, integrating core banking, treasury, and transaction banking with digital channels and partner ecosystems.
- Contribute to digital wholesale banking strategy, exploring new technologies including AI/ML, blockchain, and real-time analytics.
Stakeholder & Team Collaboration
- Partner with business teams to translate functional requirements into technical architectures.
- Work with engineering, DevOps, and data teams to ensure high-quality delivery.
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum Bachelor of Engineering, MCA, or Master's in Computer Science.
- 10+ years in banking and financial services.
- At least 5 years focused on Treasury and Transaction Banking, including Cash Management, Payments, Trade Finance, and Liquidity.
- In-depth knowledge of treasury systems including Finacle Treasury and transaction banking platforms.
- Proven experience in enterprise and solution architecture for large-scale banking platforms.
- Experience leading digital transformation in wholesale banking.
Skills & Competencies
Banking & Regulatory Knowledge
- Deep knowledge of Treasury Management encompassing front-to-back office, risk, liquidity, FX/MM, and derivatives.
- Strong understanding of Transaction Banking including payments, collections, cash management, trade finance, and supply chain finance.
- Familiarity with regulatory frameworks and market standards including ISO 20022, SWIFT, PSD2, Basel III, and AML/KYC.
Architecture & Integration
- Strong skills in integration architecture including APIs, event-driven patterns, messaging, ESB, and iPaaS.
- Deep knowledge of microservices design patterns, API-first strategy, and API gateways.
- Experience with surround system integration including CRM, ERP, risk, AML/KYC, data warehouses, and regulatory reporting.
Cloud & Infrastructure
- Hands-on experience with cloud-native architectures on AWS, including Kubernetes, ECS, serverless, and cloud networking.
- Strong expertise in containerization and cloud-native design patterns.
Security & Compliance
- Strong expertise in security frameworks, IAM, and compliance in financial systems.
Vendor & Stakeholder Management
- Strong vendor evaluation and management skills for treasury and transaction banking systems.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills; ability to bridge business and technology.
Additional Information
- TOGAF, AWS Solution Architect, or similar certifications preferred.
