Role Overview

Technician at Al Tayer Group in Dubai, UAE. The role delivers effective and efficient repair and maintenance of customer vehicles following approved manufacturer repair techniques.

Role Purpose

To perform high-quality repair and maintenance work on customer vehicles in compliance with manufacturer standards, ensuring accurate diagnostics, timely completion, and full accountability for parts and tools.

Key Responsibilities

Repair and Maintenance Execution

• Collect job orders and gather necessary materials, tools, and equipment required for vehicle repairs and maintenance.
• Perform repairs and maintenance on customer vehicles in accordance with manufacturer repair techniques.
• Ensure accurate fault diagnosis and effective utilization of allocated repair time.
• Report to Team Leader any delays in repairs due to unavailability of parts or other reasons.

Parts and Authorization Management

• Ensure all additional repairs are authorized before proceeding.
• Book all parts to the repair order.
• For warranty repairs or parts exchange programs, return removed parts to the parts department in the original carton to facilitate audit processes and secure necessary credit where applicable.
• For retail jobs, retain old parts inside the vehicle, except batteries and parts that may cause staining on interior trim or carpet.
• Return unused parts or store them properly according to company procedure.
• Dispose of used parts in an environmentally friendly manner.

Workplace Standards and Safety

• Service personal tools and maintain lifts and work area cleanliness.
• Comply with all health and safety standards.
• Keep all personal tools secure and report any breakages or accidents to the Team Leader, Supervisor, or Tool Room immediately for replacement.

Documentation and System Compliance

• Ensure proper clocking on and off in the system.
• Complete repair order write-up according to prescribed procedure.

Professional Development

• Upgrade knowledge by regularly completing web-based courses.
• Attend classroom trainings as required.

Performance and Availability

• Maintain efficiency and productivity above 100%.
• Work extra hours when required by Team Leader to ensure job completion and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications & Experience

• Diploma in Automotive Engineering.
• Industrial Technical Institute (ITI) certification: 2-year vocational course in Certified Auto Technician.
• 2 to 3 years of experience as a technician.
