Role Overview
Primary Teacher at International Schools Partnership. This is a teaching position within an international school environment, responsible for delivering primary-level education across one or more subject areas.
Role Purpose
To deliver outstanding primary education by creating a warm, academically driven classroom environment where students develop the skills and knowledge to achieve their potential, while maintaining the highest standards of safeguarding, pastoral care, and professional conduct.
Key Responsibilities
Teaching and Learning
- Deliver lessons for the given subject(s) with excellent knowledge and understanding of the subject and year group.
- Equip students with the skills to achieve their potential through outstanding pedagogical practice.
- Create and nurture a warm, caring, but academically driven classroom environment.
- Track students' progress and apply internal and external assessment data to lesson planning.
- Offer personalized challenge and tailor planning to meet the needs and data of your class.
- Create and add to the team's lesson resources, ensuring resources are tailored to the classes you teach.
Pastoral Care and Class Responsibility
- Serve as class teacher to a given class, knowing and caring for the well-being, academic and extracurricular success of each student.
- Share in the pastoral responsibility for all pupils in the school and especially for those in your tutor group.
- Offer impeccable safeguarding and child protection to every student in the school.
- Promote and safeguard the welfare of children and young people you are responsible for or come into contact with.
Reporting and Communication
- Report on student progress throughout the year via physical reports and parent evenings.
Professional Development and Continuous Improvement
- Take responsibility for your own professional development journey.
- Engage in the school-wide professional development programme.
- Play your part in continually improving the school by contributing to relevant improvement plans and school improvement initiatives.
- Be willing to contribute to the development of departmental resources.
- Positively engage with personal and professional development.
School Operations and Community
- Conduct break time and lunch time duties and cover for absent colleagues.
- Maintain a positive physical learning environment, including classroom displays.
- Attend school events and take part in the wider school life.
- Offer an extracurricular club for at least two school terms that are of high quality.
- Contribute to whole school enrichment activities before or after school.
- Be willing to contribute to the wider curriculum and support the vision of the school.
General
- Perform any other duties as assigned by the Principal, Senior leaders, or Line managers.
Qualifications & Experience
- Hold a good honours degree.
- Hold a QTS or PGCE teaching qualification, preferably from the UK.
- Have a minimum of two years' experience of teaching.
- Have experience teaching relevant UK curricula.
- Be able to provide an ICPC and a UK enhanced DBS or equivalent police check.
Skills & Competencies
- Be talented and highly motivated.
- Be professional in appearance and conduct.
