Role Purpose

Deliver engaging and effective mathematics instruction that inspires students to succeed and achieve the best possible outcomes. Support the educational and social development of pupils under the direction and guidance of the SENCO, Key Stage Leader, and Vice Principal.

Key Responsibilities

Teaching and Learning

• Demonstrate a clear understanding of the curriculum for effective implementation to match learning outcomes.
• Teach using appropriate syllabus, materials, and schemes of work to develop students' skills in mathematics.
• Organize classroom provision and learning resources and create displays to encourage a positive and engaging learning environment.
• Plan, prepare, and present sessions that cater to the needs of the whole ability range within the class.
• Plan lessons and sequences of lessons consistently and effectively in the long, medium, and short-term to meet pupils' individual learning needs.
• Create a climate for learning that is conducive to delivering outstanding practice.
• Motivate students by delivering enjoyable and creative lessons that both challenge pupils and promote critical thinking.
• Identify clear teaching and learning objectives and ensure student achievement against these.
• Be reflective of classroom provision, sessions taught, progress made, and adjust environment, planning, and curriculum to reflect this.
• Support SEN (POD), EAL, and G&T students and ensure that their needs are met through differentiation.
• Facilitate hybrid, distance learning, and face-to-face lessons.
• Embed the Al Mamoura Academy Teacher and Learner DNA language and attitudes throughout the curriculum.
• Meet with other professionals such as speech and language therapists, occupational therapists, and educational psychologists if required.

Assessment and Data

• Take responsibility for the progress of a class.
• Meet requirements for the assessment and recording of students' development using Target Tracker.
• Use data provided by assessments to influence further planning, provision, and intervention.
• Provide feedback to parents and carers on a student's progress at Parent Teacher Conferences and other meetings.

Behaviour Management and Duties

• Follow the school's established behaviour policies and procedures, including code of conduct and child safeguarding policy.
• Manage classes effectively using approaches appropriate to students' needs in order to inspire, motivate, and challenge pupils.
• Maintain good relationships with pupils, exercise appropriate authority, and act decisively when necessary within the school's established policies.
• Be a positive role model and demonstrate consistently the positive attitudes, values, and behaviour expected of pupils.
• Have high expectations of good conduct, promoting self-control and independence of all learners.
• Ensure a safe and secure environment that allows for appropriate social, emotional, and academic growth for all students.
• Carry out duties as directed and within the school's established policies.

Teamwork and Collaboration

• Deliver lessons that inspire students to succeed in order to achieve the best possible outcomes.
• Be a good communicator at all levels.
• Be committed to developing positive relationships with all members of the school community.
• Work alongside fellow teachers to plan engaging lessons that meet requirements of the curriculum.
• Liaise with colleagues and work flexibly.
• Work with parents to ensure the happiness and best academic outcomes for all children.
• Work cooperatively with curriculum support staff to support children's development.
• Work as part of a curriculum action group, supporting planning, assessment, resources, and special events linked to that team.
• Communicate effectively with parents and carers regarding students' achievements and well-being using school systems and processes such as CPOMS as appropriate.

Wider Professional Responsibilities

• Support the organizing and taking part in school events, outings, and activities which may take place at weekends or in the evening.
• Make a positive contribution to the wider life and ethos of the school.
• Run a weekly ECA each term.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in a related subject with PGCE or equivalent teaching qualification.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience working in a similar role.
