Aldar Education seeks a Teacher – Computer Science/ICT to join its growing network of schools in Abu Dhabi, starting immediately.

Role Purpose

To deliver inspirational Computer Science/ICT lessons that engage and challenge students in their formative years, creating a nurturing learning environment that sparks curiosity, encourages creativity, and supports academic, social, and personal development. The role focuses on delivering high-quality teaching and inclusive learning experiences that achieve the best possible outcomes for all students.

Key Responsibilities

Teaching and Learning

• Deliver lessons that inspire students to succeed and achieve optimal outcomes.
• Demonstrate clear understanding of the curriculum.
• Plan, prepare and present sessions that cater to the needs of the whole ability range within the class.
• Motivate pupils with enthusiastic and imaginative teaching.
• Organize classroom provision and learning resources and create displays to encourage a positive and engaging learning environment.
• Observe and assess students in line with school assessment procedures.
• Reflect on classroom provision, sessions taught, and progress made, adjusting environment, planning and curriculum accordingly.
• Embed Al Mamoura Academy Teacher and Learner DNA language and attitudes throughout the curriculum.
• Meet with other professionals such as speech and language therapists, occupational therapists and educational psychologists, if required.

Assessment and Data

• Take responsibility for the progress of the class.
• Meet requirements for assessment and recording of student development using Target Tracker.
• Use data from assessments to influence further planning, provision and intervention.
• Provide feedback to parents and carers on student progress at Parent Teacher Conferences and other meetings.

Behaviour Management and Duties

• Follow the school's behaviour policy.
• Manage classes effectively using approaches appropriate to students' needs to inspire, motivate and challenge pupils.
• Maintain good relationships with pupils, exercise appropriate authority, and act decisively when necessary within the school's behavioural policy.
• Demonstrate consistently the positive attitudes, values and behaviour expected of pupils, serving as a positive role model.
• Maintain high expectations of behaviour, promoting self-control and independence of all learners.
• Carry out duties as directed and within school policy.

Collaboration and Communication

• Work collaboratively with fellow teachers to plan engaging lessons that meet curriculum requirements.
• Liaise with colleagues and work flexibly to support school operations.
• Partner with parents to ensure the happiness and best academic outcomes for all children.
• Work cooperatively with curriculum support staff to support children's development.
• Communicate effectively with parents and carers regarding student achievements and well-being using school systems such as CPOMS.
• Demonstrate strong communication at all levels.
• Commit to developing positive relationships with all members of the school community.

Wider Professional Responsibilities

• Work as part of a curriculum action group, supporting planning, assessment, resources and special events linked to that team.
• Support the organizing and participation in school events, outings and activities which may take place at weekends or in the evening.
• Make a positive contribution to the wider life and ethos of the school.
• Run a weekly ECA each term.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's Degree in a related subject with PGCE or other teacher qualification.
• Minimum 1–2 years teaching experience.

• Previous experience working with students for whom English is not their first language.
• Passion for teaching and commitment to educating the whole child.
• High level of professionalism and consideration of the well-being of children.
• Recent and consistent involvement in extra-curricular activities.
• Respect for all members of a school community, irrespective of position, gender, age and ethnic background.
• Positive and solution-focused attitude to working life.
• Clean enhanced Disclosure and Barring Services check or police check.
