Role Overview

Systems Engineer (Linux) at DeepSource Technologies in Dubai, UAE. You will be responsible for the management, maintenance, and support of Linux-based server environments, ensuring high availability, performance, and security.

Role Purpose

Manage, maintain, and optimize Linux-based server environments. Configure and troubleshoot system issues, implement security best practices, and ensure seamless deployment and integration of applications across physical and virtual infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

Installation and Configuration

• Install, configure, and maintain Linux operating systems on physical and virtual servers.

Performance and Optimization

• Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimize server configurations for maximum efficiency.
• Participate in capacity planning and system upgrades, ensuring minimal downtime.

Backup and Disaster Recovery

• Implement and manage backups, disaster recovery, and security updates.

Automation and Maintenance

• Automate routine maintenance tasks using scripting languages, such as Bash and Python.

Cross-Team Collaboration

• Collaborate with development and network teams to ensure the seamless deployment and integration of applications.
• Provide technical support and guidance to users and IT staff regarding Linux systems.

Documentation and Knowledge Management

• Maintain detailed documentation of system configurations, procedures, and changes.
• Stay updated with the latest Linux technologies and industry trends.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 4+ years of experience as a Linux Administrator or similar role.
• Strong knowledge of Linux operating systems, including Red Hat, Ubuntu, and CentOS.
• Experience with server management, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
• Relevant certifications such as RHCE or CompTIA Linux+ are a plus.

Skills & Competencies

• Proficiency in shell scripting and automation tools.
• Familiarity with networking concepts, security best practices, and cloud services.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
