Support Crew Member

Role Overview

Support Crew Member at CAE. This is a regular position in the ECFT Support Crew Member (SCM) Program, an aviation training initiative.

Role Purpose

The SCM Program prepares and certifies students to provide right-seat support for clients attending FAA, EASA, and GCAA-approved courses under 14 CFR Part 142 and EASA ATO curricula at CAE facilities. Qualified candidates gain hands-on experience and world-class training on advanced aircraft platforms in real-world environments to launch aviation careers.

Key Responsibilities

Training & Certification

• Train and qualify to perform the Pilot Monitoring role during FAA Part 61, 91, 135, EASA, and GCAA training events.
• Provide formal Second-in-Command (SIC) simulator training for select aircraft types.
• Complete a pre-determined number of support sessions distributed across four quarters, with a set threshold per quarter, to offset the cost of type rating and associated training.

Qualifications & Experience

• FAA Commercial Pilot License or Airline Transport Pilot License.
• Airplane Multi-Engine Land rating.
• Minimum 200 flying hours.

Skills & Competencies

• Good communication skills.
