Role Overview

Supervisor - Finance Projects & Compliance at Asico. This role reports to the Group Finance Manager and is based in the UAE.

Role Purpose

Lead group-wide finance special projects, streamline finance processes, ensure compliance with applicable regulations, and oversee pre-audit functions to strengthen financial governance and maintain regulatory adherence across all business units.

Key Responsibilities

Finance Special Projects

• Implement group-wide finance transformation initiatives, including implementation and migration of integrated accounting systems across business units.
• Execute historical data transformation and migration to new systems.
• Fix and configure accounting systems for improved functionality and reporting.
• Drive cross-functional collaboration to align finance projects with business goals.
• Monitor progress and ensure timely delivery of finance-related projects.

Finance Process Streamlining and Governance

• Monitor and assess effectiveness of accounting and finance systems and processes through study of ongoing operations and review of external and internal audit reports.
• Design and implement controls to streamline payment processes, eliminating duplicate or erroneous payments.
• Establish and enforce maker-checker controls to strengthen governance.
• Configure approved budgets in financial systems, ensuring alignment with corporate guidelines.
• Review and update finance policies and processes to reflect best practices and regulatory changes.
• Track and report on finance department KPIs to evaluate performance and drive improvements.

Compliance Management

• Ensure full compliance with applicable laws and regulations, including UAE VAT and corporate tax laws, with timely return filings, reconciliations, and communication with the Federal Tax Authority.
• Maintain compliance with AML regulations, real estate regulatory requirements, and other financial laws.
• Oversee the renewal of trade licenses, labor law registrations, and other necessary permits for all entities.
• Act as the key liaison for internal and external audits related to compliance.

Pre-Audit and Payment Oversight

• Conduct pre-audit reviews of financial transactions to identify and rectify discrepancies.
• Review payment requests to ensure adherence to budget and policy guidelines.
• Implement best practices for payment processing and ensure adherence to SLAs.
• Ensure all payments and transactions comply with internal controls, financial policies, and regulatory requirements.

Systems Governance and Financial Controls

• Oversee financial system governance, ensuring system integrity, security, and compliance.
• Monitor and resolve gaps in system configuration related to financial processes.
• Align finance systems and controls with organizational objectives and audit requirements.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
• Professional certifications such as CA, CPA, CMA, ACCA, or CIA are desirable.
• Minimum 5–7 years of experience in finance with focus on compliance, process governance, and system transformation.
• Prior exposure to real estate or allied service industries is advantageous.
• In-depth knowledge of tax laws including UAE VAT and corporate tax.
• Expertise in finance policy formulation and governance frameworks.
• Proficiency in ERP systems and finance automation tools.
• Familiarity with real estate-specific regulatory and financial compliance.
• Experience with system implementation and process transformation initiatives.

Skills & Competencies

• Strong understanding of UAE VAT, corporate tax, and AML compliance.
• Strong grasp of internal control frameworks and financial governance standards.
• Expertise in finance systems governance and automation.
• Excellent communication skills in English language.
• Knowledge of Arabic language is an added advantage.
