Role Overview
Stores Supervisor at NMC Healthcare. This role leads daily store and warehouse operations, managing inventory, personnel, and compliance across receiving, storage, picking, and issuing functions.
Role Purpose
To oversee all store and warehouse activities, maintain accurate inventory records and stock levels, supervise store personnel, ensure regulatory and company policy compliance, and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and cost control.
Key Responsibilities
Operations & Supervision
- Supervise daily store and warehouse activities, including receiving, storing, picking, and issuing materials.
- Supervise and allocate tasks to storekeepers, warehouse assistants, and other store personnel.
- Ensure employees follow company procedures, housekeeping standards, and health and safety requirements.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe storage area.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Inventory Management
- Monitor inventory levels and ensure adequate stock availability.
- Conduct regular stock counts and physical inventory checks.
- Maintain accurate inventory records in the ERP/system and ensure timely updates.
- Monitor slow-moving, obsolete, damaged, and expired stock and report accordingly.
- Ensure proper FIFO/FEFO practices where applicable.
Receiving & Quality Control
- Ensure all incoming goods are checked against purchase orders, delivery notes, and required specifications.
- Maintain proper storage, labeling, identification, and organization of stock.
- Ensure proper handling and storage of fragile, hazardous, temperature-sensitive, or high-value materials where applicable.
Documentation & Processing
- Prepare and process material requisitions, goods received notes, stock transfer notes, and issue vouchers as required.
- Ensure materials are issued only against authorized requests.
- Investigate and report stock discrepancies, damages, shortages, and excess inventory.
Stakeholder Coordination & Reporting
- Coordinate with Procurement, Operations, Finance, and other departments regarding stock requirements and deliveries.
- Prepare periodic inventory and operational reports for management.
- Support internal and external audits by providing accurate inventory records and documentation.
Compliance & Improvement
- Ensure compliance with company policies and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Identify opportunities to improve store efficiency, inventory accuracy, and cost control.
Qualifications & Experience
- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
- Minimum 3β5 years of experience in stores, warehouse, inventory, or logistics operations.
- Previous supervisory experience is preferred.
Skills & Competencies
- Good knowledge of inventory control and warehouse procedures.
- Experience using ERP, inventory management, or warehouse management systems.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Strong organizational and record-keeping skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to supervise and motivate a team.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet operational deadlines.
