Role Overview
Store Manager at Apparel Group. This role oversees daily store operations, ensures a positive shopping experience, maintains store standards, achieves financial targets, and relays customer and product feedback to relevant stakeholders.
Role Purpose
The Store Manager is responsible for leading store operations with a strong blend of leadership and organizational skills, combined with a deep understanding of the fashion retail market. The role requires driving financial performance, maintaining operational excellence, delivering superior customer experience, and developing a high-performing sales team.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Performance
- Drive the store team to achieve store targets and KPIs.
- Ensure store shrinkage remains below 0.2% of the cost of sale.
- Monitor and manage store expenses, budgets, and financial goals.
- Set and achieve sales targets, monitor KPIs, and analyze sales performance to identify areas for improvement.
- Develop and implement action plans based on performance metrics to drive results.
Operations & Process
- Oversee day-to-day store operations, including opening and closing procedures.
- Conduct regular financial and stock audits.
- Regularly update, track, and communicate the store dashboard.
- Maintain visual merchandising standards in the store.
- Maintain the back store operation and replenishment of merchandise.
- Implement and enforce company policies and procedures to ensure compliance.
Team Management & Development
- Recruit, train, and develop a high-performing sales team.
- Conduct regular team meetings to communicate goals, performance expectations, and provide constructive feedback.
- Manage people regarding performance and conduct of store employees.
- Maintain employee records, including leave management, passport information, performance and conduct history, and roster management.
- Constantly upgrade the skills of self and team and create a pipeline of future store managers.
- Identify learning gaps of the team and create processes to address them.
- Conduct training sessions for new hires and ongoing product knowledge sessions for the team.
Customer Experience & Stakeholder Relations
- Drive the store team to achieve club apparel, Net Promoter Score (NPS), and DSES goals.
- Address customer inquiries and concerns promptly, striving to exceed customer expectations.
- Maintain a relationship with mall management.
- Effectively communicate with the office back-end team regarding store-related activities.
- Communicate regularly with higher management, providing updates on store performance, challenges, and opportunities.
Security & Safety
- Implement and enforce security measures to prevent theft and ensure the safety of both customers and employees.
Qualifications & Experience
- 5+ years of progressive experience in a customer-centric role with strong management experience.
- Proven success in enhancing customer engagement and achieving or exceeding sales KPI targets for stores.
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, retail management, or a related field is preferred.
- Leadership skills and problem-solving skills required.
