Job description

Role Overview

Store Keeper position at Al Tayer Group, Dubai, UAE. The role coordinates parts procurement activities from ordering through stocking to facilitate smooth movement of parts stock from port to store to point of sale.

Role Purpose

To manage all store operations, inventory accuracy, and logistics of automotive parts, ensuring physical stock aligns with book balances and enabling timely delivery to customers and fleet.

Key Responsibilities

Inventory Management & Stock Control

  • Maintain physical stock of stores in alignment with book balances at all times.
  • Perform perpetual inventory once a fortnight and verify physical stocks.
  • Update stock records for new consignments and generate SRV documentation.
  • Assign new bin locations for first-time receipt parts and update the system.
  • Assign and maintain secondary locations for high-volume parts.

Goods Receipt & Inspection

  • Receive consignments from both air and sea freight from principals, CPD, or IBT.
  • Check correctness of parts upon receipt.
  • Ensure timely binning of parts in correct locations.
  • Inspect and authorize return of sales returns to store locations.

Claims & Compliance

  • Generate claims on principals or CPD for shortages and damages.
  • Ensure settlement of claims.
  • Approve scrapping of parts not deemed sale-worthy as advised by principals.

Reporting & Administration

  • Maintain service level data of principals.
  • Maintain principal receipts and local purchase data for monthly submission to Finance department.

Fleet & Equipment Management

  • Schedule and maintain vehicle fleet, forklift, and other store equipment.
  • Ensure timely deliveries to fleet and credit customers.

Safety & Housekeeping

  • Ensure all safety, security, and healthcare measures are followed to keep premises safe.
  • Maintain housekeeping standards.

Qualifications & Experience

  • High school or intermediate school completion, or tertiary-level qualification in stores or inventory management.
  • Five years experience in stores, or three years experience with tertiary-level qualification in stores or inventory management.

Skills & Competencies

  • Inventory control and stock management.
  • Parts receipt, inspection, and documentation.
  • Fleet and equipment maintenance scheduling.
  • Data maintenance and reporting.
  • Safety and security protocol compliance.
