Steward at Waldorf Astoria Ras Al Khaimah, a Hilton property located in Ras Al Khaimah. You will be the backbone of the kitchen, ensuring that everything is sparkling clean and running smoothly while delivering memorable experiences that support exceptional guest stays.

Role Purpose
As a Steward, you will carry out general cleaning duties and operate pot-washing machinery to deliver an excellent guest and member experience while ensuring all back of house areas are kept clean and safety guidelines are observed.
Key Responsibilities
Operations & Cleaning
- Operate pot-washing machinery and maintain a hygienic working environment in accordance with hygiene regulations and company standards.
- Carry out general cleaning as directed, including sweeping, mopping, washing up, and emptying of rubbish bins and boxes.
- Ensure correct placement of waste in the correct containers.
- Ensure that all kitchen and back of house areas are kept clean and all equipment within the kitchen area is cleaned in accordance with the cleaning schedule.
Waste Management & Sustainability
- Manage waste practices including recycling, composting, and proper disposal of waste materials.
Health, Safety & Compliance
- Ensure the correct PPE is in place and guidelines are adhered to.
- Observe COSHH guidelines when handling hazardous substances.
- Comply with all aspects of Health & Safety requirements.
- Report any maintenance and/or hazard issues to the supervisor on duty.
General Duties
- Carry out any other reasonable task set by the Hotel's Management.
Skills & Competencies
- Proficiency in various cleaning techniques, including proper use of cleaning agents, equipment, and tools.
- Deep understanding of hygiene standards and sanitation protocols for kitchens, dining areas, and other facilities.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for staff and guests.
- Ability to handle chemicals safely and prevent accidents.
- Understanding of basic equipment maintenance procedures to ensure tools and machinery remain in good working condition.
