Role Overview

Senior Yard Engineer required for Electrical and Instrumentation at NMDC Group.

Role Purpose

Lead electrical and instrumentation yard construction activities from pre-engineering through offshore installation, ensuring compliance with contractual requirements, schedule, budget and safety standards while coordinating across multiple disciplines and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Project Management & Coordination

  • Strive to achieve planned and agreed individual KPIs and contribute positively to department objectives.
  • Participate in Pre-Construction and Engineering surveys to Brownfield locations, both Onshore and Offshore along with Engineering.
  • Support PMT works as requested by the E&I Construction Manager or Project Engineer; coordinate updates on status of AFC drawings, shop drawings, material receipt and construction schedule.
  • Review the Project Planning Package to establish the sequence, duration, weights of activities and corresponding manpower requirements.
  • Identify any changes to the Contractual Scope of Work and Specifications which have schedule and cost impacts; closely monitor all revised Drawings and Specifications and request necessary Job Instructions or Variation Order Packages.
  • Maintain marked-up As-Built Drawings daily.
  • Participate in constructability review meetings with Engineering, PMT, Yard, Subcontractor and Client.
  • Upon completion of a project, participate in reviewing it with relevant parties to identify opportunities for lesson learnt and further improvements.

Yard Construction Supervision

  • Supervise all E & I construction activities at site including interfaces with other disciplines and Subcontractor works.
  • Ensure necessary resources are available at site, all safety requirements and procedures are complied with, and work is carried out in line with the Contract Terms.
  • Identify any major constraints affecting construction progress and bring them to the immediate attention of the Construction Manager or Project Engineer.
  • Ensure availability of manpower resources, construction aids, equipment, material, tools, tackles and consumables for the effective commencement and continuation of construction activities at site.
  • Return all surplus material back to store through SRN to secure it.
  • Maintain a manpower log and control manpower allocation of budget for efficient deployment.
  • Maintain a daily Progress record and material utilization record and report potential shortages to the Construction Manager or Project Engineer on a regular basis.
  • Maintain peer level contacts with Clients and Subcontractors for the resolution of site queries, deviations and concession requests.
  • Ensure proper preservation of equipment in accordance with the approved project preservation procedures and Vendors recommendations.
  • Attend weekly progress meetings with the Client, Subcontractor, PMT and Yard.
  • Follow up the day-to-day activities and progress of work related to E & I discipline and ensure work is executed according to contractual requirements, planned schedule and within the allocated Budget.

Inspection, Testing & Quality Assurance

  • Supervise the required E & I Inspection and Testing requirements during the construction phase and coordinate with the Client or Certifying Authority Representatives for Inspection and Witnessing of the Tests.
  • Ensure timely signatures and approvals are obtained.
  • Follow up to clear all punch list items raised during construction and material receiving phases.
  • Attend E & I related packages FAT and follow up to close all punches prior to dispatch to site.
  • Resolve Engineering, Inspection Queries and Concession Requests through PMT, Engineering, QA, QC and Client.

Offshore Installation

  • Attend Kick Off Meetings and progress meetings.
  • Coordinate with Client shutdown schedules.
  • Conduct site surveys and arrange execution Job Instruction for Green and Brown Field Scope.
  • Coordinate with Onshore Interface Contractors to resolve interface related issues.
  • Coordinate with Vendors and Subcontractors for work execution.
  • Identify the offshore techs team composition.
  • Support Material Movements, SABER Application and LOM process as needed.
  • Arrange and secure project Materials, test equipment and consumables to be made available in areas planned for KSA and UAE Offshore.
  • Highlight project delays and discuss mitigation plans with seniors.
  • Coordinate with Yard team ensuring onshore scope is attended and no carry over works exist.
  • Clear offshore Punch list.
  • Return all test equipment and tools to base in sound condition.

Compliance & Development

  • Maintain compliance in accordance with Company policies and procedures, Policy of Integrity, Code of Conduct and HSE standards.
  • Train and mentor junior colleagues in PMT, Construction and Offshore related works.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Instrumentation or related discipline from an accredited university (Full time).
  • Minimum 8 years of relevant experience preferred in the Oil & Gas industry.
