Role Overview

Senior Technical Professional – Telecommunication at KBR, responsible for the design, specification, and delivery of communication systems across multiple technologies and platforms.

Role Purpose

Design, specify, and deliver communication systems including satellite, line of sight, fiber optic, phone, public address systems, and supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) data transmission. Work under general supervision to solve complex technical problems, adapt engineering practices to novel constraints, and mentor less experienced team members.

Key Responsibilities

Design & Engineering

• Design communication systems and specify components and services.
• Devise new approaches to problems encountered in system design and implementation.
• Plan and schedule work requiring independent evaluation, selection, and adaptation of engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria.
• Perform engineering work involving conventional practice and complex features such as conflicting design requirements, unsuitability of conventional materials, and difficult coordination requirements.

Technical Guidance & Mentorship

• Provide technical guidance to designers and less experienced engineers.

Operational Impact

• Execute work that impacts indirectly on cost containment, efficiency, profitability, and operations.

Qualifications & Experience

• Undergraduate degree in Engineering.
• Minimum 4 years of related experience.
• Average experience ranging from 6–10 years.

Skills & Competencies

• Expertise in satellite, line of sight, and fiber optic communication systems.
• Proficiency in phone systems and public address systems design and deployment.
• Knowledge of supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) systems and data transmission.
• Independent judgment in engineering problem-solving and methodology selection.
• Capability to manage complex, multi-faceted technical coordination.
