Job description

Role Overview

Specialist, HR Operations at Ma'aden, reporting to the Manager, HR Services within the Human Resources Services department (GGM Business Unit, Grade M9).

Role Purpose

Assist in the implementation of Human Capital strategic initiatives and coordinate HR operations across employee relations, training, recruiting, induction, talent management, compliance, compensation, and internal communications. The role supports operational excellence activities and ensures consistent application of company policies and labor law requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Employee Relations & Discipline

  • Investigate incidents and violations of company rules and regulations by employees, including receiving details from supervisors and conducting employee interviews to determine reasons for violations.
  • Forward documentation and findings to the Human Resources department at Head Office for further action as necessary.
  • Issue warning letters to employees with necessary explanations following approved corrective guidance actions.
  • Process termination procedures in accordance with provisions of individual contracts, company policy and procedures, and Labor Law.

Leave & Visa Management

  • Review all leave requests (holiday, sick, etc.) for Ma'aden employees against entitlements and refer to individual contracts, policy, procedures, and Labor Law as necessary.
  • Approve entitlements if within appropriate guidelines and ensure timely and efficient processing of applicable payments, overtime, and deductions.
  • Coordinate employee leave requests between the Mine and Head Office, including checking compliance with policy, dispatching to Head Office for approval, and disbursing approved requests to the employee and department concerned.
  • Follow up on Mine employees' applications for exit and re-entry visas and residence permits for non-Saudi staff, including periodic follow-up calls to the Jeddah office.

Recruitment & Onboarding

  • Coordinate various recruitments with Riyadh Recruitment, including handling personnel requisitions, screening applications, coordinating with line department heads for applicant interviews if needed, and processing selected candidates for employment.

Compensation & Administrative Operations

  • Coordinate various payments and deductions with HR Riyadh, including vacations and advance payments.
  • Ensure timely and efficient processing of applicable payments, overtime, and deductions.
  • Carry out a variety of administrative personnel activities such as liaising with Head Office or Mine employees regarding applications for bank loans.
  • Coordinate personnel ground transportation between various sites.
  • Implement and process salary action procedures.
  • Gather information and compile GOSI and other reports.
  • Suggest changes to policy and procedures in light of operational requirements.

Training & Development

  • Meet safety goals through training and reinforcement.
  • Ensure that training and development needs are communicated to Head Office.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or equivalent.
  • 3 years' experience in Human Resources.
