Role Overview

Show Operator Assistant Video - Theater Operations at Wynn Al Marjan Island, located in Ras Al Khaimah, UAE, approximately 50 miles from Dubai International Airport. The resort is scheduled to open in 2027.

Company Overview

Wynn Al Marjan Island will be the first integrated resort in the UAE. The resort will feature 1,530 rooms and suites, 22 restaurants, lounges and bars, a theater, a beach club, multiple swimming and wading pools, a five-star spa, a salon, a shopping promenade, and a celebrations and events center.

Role Purpose

Support the Head Lighting & Video – Theater Operations in supervising the Theater Operations team and maintaining safe, consistent operation of all video systems for rehearsals and performances at a large-scale theatrical venue.

Key Responsibilities

Supervision & Personnel Management

• Assist the Head Lighting & Video – Theater Operations with supervising department staff.
• Assist with hiring and training of all new employees.
• Assist with managing and documenting all required staff training.
• Assist with staff scheduling and timekeeping.
• Create an atmosphere that maximizes productivity and minimizes costs.

Video Systems Operations

• Assist the Head Lighting & Video – Theater Operations with establishing and maintaining safe and consistent operations of all video systems for each rehearsal and performance.
• Assist the crew in the performance of show cues and operation of show cue tracks.
• Monitor all video systems and provide adequate oversight and supervision to maintain a safe environment.
• Provide cost-effective solutions to video issues that maintain show quality and maximize return on investment.

Systems Documentation & Development

• Assist with documenting, monitoring and updating video systems installation specifications, inventory of materials and equipment, and all pertinent inspection and maintenance records.
• Assist in the continual development and documentation of all department systems.
• Keep a log of all maintenance and regular inspections.

Maintenance & Inspection

• Assist with overseeing a regular and long-term inspection and maintenance schedule and procedures plan for all video system installations.
• Participate regularly in such inspections.
• Communicate and coordinate with system manufacturers for system updates and repairs.

Safety & Compliance

• Assist with overseeing the emergency procedures for show systems with Stage Management and the technical team.
• Ensure all department staff is trained and familiar with emergency procedures.
• Assist with preparing and maintaining a safety guide for all video and document all operations as part of a permanent record.

Show Development

• Work with the Resident Director – Theater Operations on required changes and ongoing development of the show.
• Assist in maintaining training and backup plans to assure continuity in performance operations of the department.

Resource Management

• Assist with ordering supplies and keeping an inventory of all consumables.

Qualifications & Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of five years' experience working as an Assistant Head of Video for a large-scale theatrical or production show.
• Experience with a wide variety of modern theatrical video systems as it pertains to operation, installation, use and troubleshooting.
• Relevant OSHA/IOSH or alternate industry standard qualifications.
