Role Overview

Shipping Clerk at Caterpillar Inc. This full-time, office-based position coordinates and executes shipping and logistics activities to support the timely and accurate movement of products to customers.

Role Purpose

Coordinate and execute shipping and logistics activities to ensure timely and accurate product movement to customers while maintaining compliance with shipping requirements and providing administrative and operational support for order fulfillment.

Key Responsibilities

Shipping & Transportation Operations

  • Arrange transportation with carriers and freight forwarders.
  • Arrange for adjustments or replacements for lost or damaged merchandise.
  • Move shipments to proper departments.

Documentation & Record Keeping

  • Perform system transactions and maintain records for incoming shipments and products.
  • Prepare invoices, shipping documents, mailing labels, and packing lists.
  • Keep records of all shipments for reference.

Quality & Compliance

  • Check quantity, quality, and basic condition of contents to ensure alignment with original order.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable shipping requirements.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Business Management, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field.
  • Experience in a document clerk, shipping clerk, logistics assistant, or similar administrative logistics role.
  • Experience working with freight forwarders, transportation providers, or within a logistics, supply chain, or shipping department.

  • Accuracy and Attention to Detail: ability to complete tasks with high levels of precision.
  • Analytical Thinking: ability to determine root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions.
  • Distribution Center Management: ability to operate a warehouse or distribution center that handles the flow of goods from supplier to production to customer.
  • Flexibility and Adaptability: ability to adapt to changing environments and be comfortable with change.
  • Import/Export – MFG: ability to import and export goods to and from international locations.
  • Problem Solving: ability to apply knowledge of problem solving to diverse situations.
  • Service Excellence: ability to meet or exceed customer needs and expectations and provide excellent service.
  • Transportation – MFG: ability to transport materials and goods to and from suppliers, distribution centers, manufacturing facilities, and customers.
  • Strong documentation, data entry, and administrative skills with high attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Fluent English communication skills.
  • Arabic language skills are considered an asset.
  • Familiarity with shipping documentation, invoicing, packing lists, and logistics processes.

Additional Information

  • Full-time, office-based position requiring regular onsite presence.
