Service Technician

Role Overview

Service Technician at Ali & Sons Holding LLC. The role is based at one of Inter Emirates Motors' service centres across the UAE (Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Ras Al Khaimah, Sharjah, and Al Ain).

Role Purpose

To service, maintain, inspect, diagnose, and repair MG vehicles in accordance with manufacturer standards, ensuring reliable vehicle performance, high-quality workmanship, and compliance with company safety and operational procedures.

Key Responsibilities

Service & Maintenance

• Carry out minor periodic service and maintenance in accordance with MG Guidelines and IEM SOPs.
• Repair or replace worn, damaged, or faulty components according to the assigned job order.
• Perform Pre-Delivery Inspection (PDI) on vehicles as required.
• Maintain high-quality workmanship and ensure repairs meet MG manufacturer standards.

Diagnostics & Technical Support

• Use VDS and approved diagnostic/scanning tools to identify, read, and clear vehicle faults.
• Assist Repair and Diagnostic Technicians with technical repairs and troubleshooting as required.

Professional Development

• Continuously develop technical knowledge by attending formal training and keeping up to date with the latest automotive technologies and repair techniques.

Asset & Inventory Management

• Maintain and manage the required inventory of standard technician tools.
• Maintain company tools, equipment, and assets responsibly.

Documentation & Coordination

• Provide clear and accurate documentation of work performed, including relevant comments and safety-related observations.
• Clock in and out of assigned job orders in accordance with standard procedures.
• Coordinate with the Workshop Controller regarding vehicle status and with the Parts Advisor to obtain the correct parts required for repairs.

Compliance & Safety

• Follow instructions from supervisors and ensure all work is performed in accordance with company and MG SOPs.
• Maintain a professional attitude and appearance at all times.
• Keep the work area clean, organized, and safe.
• Comply with all company QHSE and health & safety procedures.

General Duties

• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications & Experience

• Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience as an Automotive Technician, preferably in a similar capacity.
• High Diploma in Mechanics or a relevant automotive/mechanical qualification.
• MG Brand Advanced Technician Qualification Certification is required.

Skills & Competencies

Technical Skills

• Knowledge of automotive mechanical systems and routine maintenance.
• Experience carrying out minor periodic services and repairs.
• Ability to perform vehicle PDI.
• Hands-on experience using VDS and automotive diagnostic/scanning tools.
• Ability to identify and repair mechanical and vehicle-related faults.
• Knowledge of MG repair procedures and manufacturer standards.
• Ability to interpret job orders and accurately document completed work.
• Good knowledge of workshop tools and equipment.
• Strong understanding of workshop health & safety procedures.

Software & Computer Skills

• Computer literate with the ability to use basic computer applications, workshop systems, and diagnostic equipment.

Languages

• English is required.
• Arabic is preferred.
