Role Overview

Senior Vice President Treasury Sales International at QNB, located in Doha, Qatar. The role manages the overall marketing process of all treasury products to international clients (excluding MENA region) and leads the generation of profitable International Treasury Product sales to create additional benefit opportunities for the Group.

Role Purpose

The incumbent manages the overall marketing process of treasury products to international clients and leads the generation of profitable International Treasury Product sales while creating potential for the Group to leverage additional benefits from these sales.

Key Responsibilities

Shareholder & Financial

  • Implement and lead the Group's strategies to position its treasury as a major player in the international treasury segment.
  • Develop and create Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for systematic performance monitoring and quality measurement purposes for the Desk and monitor their achievements.
  • Set and achieve targets and objectives for the International Treasury Sales Unit, driving business growth and expansion.
  • Implement and evaluate best practice work methods in the area of responsibility to achieve optimum performance efficiency.
  • Implement KPIs and best practices for the Senior Vice President Treasury Sales International role.
  • Promote cost consciousness and efficiency, enhance productivity, minimize cost, avoid waste and optimize benefits for the bank.

Customer & Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain strong and effective relationships with all related units to achieve International Treasury Sales goals and objectives.
  • Maintain relationships with key international clients.
  • Assist customers with all queries on the Bank's products and seek solutions to their requests.
  • Maintain activities in accordance with Service Level Agreements (SLAs) with internal departments and units to achieve improvements in turn-around time.
  • Provide timely and accurate information to external and internal auditors, the Compliance function and Group Risk as required.
  • Ensure all international treasury sales team members maintain constructive personal working relationships through regular planned calling, visits and entertainment with the objective that the customer is responsive to calls and considers the Group a strategic partner.

Operations & Process Management

  • Ensure compliance to the department's policies and procedures for conducting sales calls and visits, preparing presentations on products internally and externally, maintaining the contact database and maintaining and collating MIS pertaining to profitability and revenue.
  • Develop new international relationships within delegated authority and act as the main focal point for guidance and assistance in resolution of contentious issues in managing international relationships.
  • Liaise with the International Corporate Banking Division to identify potential customers and cross-sell treasury services.
  • Deliver requisite training to International Corporate Banking staff on the treasury products and services provided by the Group.
  • Maintain the database for international treasury customers, ensuring timely update after contact with potential and current QNB customers.
  • Schedule meetings and visits for self and subordinates with international customers.

Market Intelligence & Product Development

  • Network with international customers and marketing groups within and outside QNB to solicit customer feedback, gain market intelligence, benchmark selling techniques and enhance the Group's profile in the market.
  • Participate in the product development process in coordination with the SVP, Treasury Structured Products and Derivatives.
  • Monitor and enhance the product development process and provide timely updates to the EVP, Group Treasury Sales on customer needs and new market opportunities.
  • Stay abreast of market and product developments in the area and update the International Treasury Sales team and superiors.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Manage and maintain a well-motivated, well-trained, focused team with a reputation for the highest standards of professionalism and ethical behavior to ensure a good name in the market.
  • Monitor performance of direct reports and guide them in managing their performance by providing appropriate feedback.
  • Identify related areas for professional development of self and all direct reports and act to enhance professional development.
  • Seek out opportunities to remain current with all developments in the professional field.
  • Hold meetings with staff and assess their performance and the team's overall performance on a regular basis.
  • Take decisive action to ensure speedy resolution of unresolved grievances or conflicts within the team.
  • Identify development opportunities and activities for staff and facilitate and coach them to improve effectiveness and prepare them to assume greater responsibilities.

Continuous Improvement

  • Lead improvement initiatives through cross-functional teams ensuring successes and setting examples.
  • Identify and encourage people to adopt practices better than the industry standard.
  • Continuously encourage and recognize the importance of thinking out-of-the-box within the team.
  • Encourage, solicit and reward innovative ideas even in day-to-day issues.

Legal, Regulatory & Risk Management

  • Comply with all applicable legal, regulatory and internal compliance requirements including Group Compliance Policies and Procedures (AML & CTF, Sanctions Policy, Data Protection Policy, Fraud Control Policy, Whistle Blowing Policy, Conflict of Interest and Insider Dealing Policy).
  • Understand and effectively perform your role under the Three Lines of Defense principle to identify, measure, monitor, manage and report risks.
  • Ensure systematic good outcomes for clients in accordance with Conduct Risk policy.
  • Support the framework of RCSA, KRI, Incident reporting and remediation as appropriate in accordance with Operational Risk Management requirements.
  • Maintain appropriate knowledge to ensure full qualification to undertake the role.
  • Complete all mandatory training provided by the Bank and attain and maintain the required levels of competence.
