Role Overview

Senior Treasury Analyst at McDermott. The role is based at a McDermott location; no specific city or office is stated in the source material.

Role Purpose

Improve Treasury Discipline within McDermott by applying best practices and discipline-specific knowledge. Act as a resource and mentor to colleagues with less experience, solving complex treasury problems and ensuring the treasury team and related teams operate within appropriate guidelines and policies.

Key Responsibilities

Bank Guarantee and Credit Management

  • Coordinate between commercial/bids team and corporate treasury for bank guarantee requirements.
  • Review and approve bank guarantee text format for bid submission.
  • Arrange bank support letters from corporate treasury or bank as per requirement.
  • Liaise with corporate treasury and bank for bank guarantee issuance.
  • Reach out to prospect relationship banks to identify opportunities for new credit lines.
  • Ensure regular updates and information are shared with existing banks for annual renewal of facility.
  • Maintain healthy banking relations with existing banks and resolve any issues with receipt, payment, and bank guarantees.
  • Prepare list of outstanding bank guarantee details with project, entity, and facility used on a monthly basis.
  • Prepare bank guarantee forecast quarterly in consultation with project teams and ensure timely internal reviews and submission to stakeholders.

Cash Flow and Petty Cash Management

  • Ensure effective cash flow management by funding accounts periodically.
  • Review and sign off petty cash reimbursement claims from petty cashier(s) in line with company policies and procedures.

Compliance and Controls

  • Review and sign off the treasury receipt journal monthly as per SOX control requirement.
  • Ensure SOX compliance relating to treasury activities are handled as per company policy.

Stakeholder Coordination

  • Coordinate with bid and project teams.
  • Liaise with corporate treasury, project accounting teams, commercials team, banks, and tax group.
  • Address ad hoc requirements for the treasury function.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Qualified Chartered Accountant or equivalent qualification from internationally recognized institute.
  • Around 3 to 6 years of relevant post-qualification experience.
  • Good understanding of banking functions.
  • Detailed experience in own discipline.
  • Hands-on experience in treasury products and systems.

Skills & Competencies

  • Good communication skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and manage tight reporting schedule.
  • Ability to work independently with minimum amount of supervision.
  • Ability to work with stakeholders of all levels as needed.
  • May undertake projects and share expertise.
