Senior Technician, Mechanical Maintenance (Rotating-Process)

Role Overview

Senior Technician, Mechanical Maintenance (Rotating-Process) at ADNOC. The role is based at a facility requiring mechanical maintenance support across utility and production systems.

Role Purpose

Perform preventive, breakdown, and shutdown mechanical maintenance activities on plant equipment including rotating and static equipment to support production, quality, and safety requirements. Ensure equipment availability, reliability, and integrity across utility units such as cooling water, firewater network, instrument air, inert gas generation, potable water, mobile pumps and compressors, and effluent water disposal systems.

Key Responsibilities

Maintenance Operations

• Obtain work permits from Area Authority and review assigned work scope.
• Arrange necessary transport, materials, tools, and equipment to complete assigned tasks.
• Allocate work to assigned technicians and participate in diagnosis of complex equipment faults.
• Inspect and test completed work to ensure equipment performs efficiently in accordance with requirements.
• Carry out assigned routine and preventive maintenance, including replacing worn or damaged parts.
• Arrange for test runs as necessary following maintenance completion.
• Carry out major overhaul of equipment, check clearances precisely, and determine usage or replacement of parts.

Reporting & Documentation

• Issue comprehensive daily activity reports outlining the cause of faults, nature of work completed, and materials, labour, and time taken.
• Collect technical data from the field as required and provide inputs to prepare Section progress reports for Company Management.
• Provide input for the preparation of Method statements.
• Initiate Near Miss reports.

Health, Safety, Environment & Sustainability

• Comply with all relevant HSE policies, procedures, and controls and applicable legislation and sustainability guidelines in line with international standards, best practices, and ADNOC Code of Practices.
• Participate in Emergency Response duties as a team member.
• Maintain the work environment clean and tidy before, during, and after executing jobs in line with established standards of Hygiene and Housekeeping.

• Implement and comply with all relevant functional policies, processes, systems, standards, procedures to accomplish operational objectives.

Training & Development

• Provide on-the-job training to meet Competency Based Training programs for UAE Nationalization.

Tools & Equipment Management

• Maintain all tools, safety gear, and equipment provided by the company safely and in working condition.
• Arrange for repair or replacement of any tools and safety gear that may not be in good working condition.

Time Management & Resource Planning

• Carry out all maintenance jobs in line with assigned time standards.
• Inform the Maintenance Supervisor if additional resources are required to carry out jobs within the assigned time frame.

Continuous Improvement

• Contribute to the identification of areas and opportunities for continuous improvement in operating procedures, modification of functional processes, machinery, or equipment.

Qualifications & Experience

• Technical Diploma or Secondary School Certificate with a vocational trade certificate in mechanical engineering or Diploma Certificate in a relevant field.
• 6 years of experience in Mechanical maintenance activities within a large industrial organization, preferably in the Oil and Gas industry.
• Proficient in English.
