Senior Surveyor

Role Overview

Senior Surveyor at Ma'aden, Mining Department (GGM Business Unit). Reports to the Mine Manager.

Role Purpose

Maintain survey equipment in proper working order, set it up correctly, replenish required materials and supplies, and operate surveying equipment to collect and record accurate survey data for further processing.

Key Responsibilities

Survey Execution

• Establish sight points using survey equipment to determine elevations and distances for mining operations.
• Operate theodolites, laser levels, and other surveying equipment to take measurements and collect survey data.
• Record collected data, perform required calculations, and submit results to the supervisor for further processing.

Survey Data and Drawings

• Prepare hand drawings of surveyed areas showing elevations, distances, and transitions.
• Input survey data into SURPAC for analysis and the development of plans and information for future mining.

Equipment, Safety, and Work Control

• Maintain survey equipment in proper working order and set it up correctly.
• Replenish survey materials and supplies.
• Observe safety regulations and monitor Helpers' compliance with safety instructions.
• Execute related duties in line with defined procedures and craft standards, keeping the supervisor informed of work progress.

Qualifications & Experience

• Completion of secondary education (12 years), followed by two years of formal training leading to a diploma in surveying technology.
• Five years of surveying experience in the mining industry, or six years in relevant previous industries.
