Job description

Role Overview

Senior Services Officer – BBD (Outsource) at ADIB, supporting Business Banking Due Diligence operations.

Role Purpose

Oversee ongoing due diligence reviews across all Business Banking customer segments, manage ODD team performance and compliance, ensure regulatory adherence to anti-money laundering requirements, and coordinate customer relationship exit and exemption processes.

Key Responsibilities

Ongoing Due Diligence Oversight

  • Oversee ongoing due diligence reviews for all High, Medium, and Low Risk customers across all Business Banking divisions.
  • Ensure completion of ODD for all customers, or implement approved consequence management where ODD is not completed.
  • Review ODD completion status after BAU period for all customers in scope and exclude completed or under-process cases from closure.
  • Share final pending list for closure with BBD Checker team.

Team Management & Performance

  • Manage the Supervisors, Checkers, and Makers daily and monthly performance and productivity.
  • Create and review KPIs for all ODD Supervisors, Checkers, and Makers regularly and when needed.
  • Prepare Mid and Annual appraisals for ODD Supervisors, Checkers, and Makers teams.
  • Maintain effective resource management and planning for the ODD team against core activities and utilization.

Compliance & Regulatory Management

  • Manage daily operation of ODD Supervisors, Checkers, and Makers with compliance to Ongoing Due Diligence and Anti-Money Laundering regulations and SOPs.
  • Prepare and review all ODD-related SOPs, Policies, SLAs, Memos, and BRIYs to ensure compliance with ODD and Anti-Money Laundering regulations and recommend changes accordingly.
  • Ensure following of action plans in response to compliance, fraud violations, and audit discoveries identified cases.
  • Report compliance and all other issues to Management and recommend changes.
  • Identify risks and set controls for ODD teams.
  • Arrange with Quality & Control team to monitor RCSA, KRI, and Control Testing for ODD Makers and Checkers teams.

Reporting & Communication

  • Ensure progress reports are shared with Senior Business Banking, Operations, and Compliance management accurately and on time.
  • Prepare critical reports to Senior Management and GCEO Office on demand to show progress.
  • Work effectively with the department Manager and other departments' senior co-workers.

Customer Relationship Follow-Up

  • Ensure proper follow-up is in place with Operations, Compliance, and other units for pending cases.

Customer Exit Process

  • Ensure implementation of the exit relationship exercise after deciding which relations to exit based on analysis of customer revenue, commitments, facilities, and due diligence assessments, and share recommendation to Management.
  • Share the final exit list with MIS team to provide account details and status.
  • Ensure analysis of shared MIS data is completed to decide which relations can be exited based on customer ongoing commitments with the Bank and other parameters as per ADIB SOPs.
  • Share final list with BBD Product/Marketing Manager to dispatch exit letters to customers.
  • For cases with balances, arrange to issue a payment order to clear the balance and then arrange for closure.

Customer Exemption Process

  • Ensure implementation of customer exemption from ODD process by deciding which relations to exempt after analyzing customer revenue, commitments, facilities, and due diligence assessments.
  • Share final exemption list with Group Compliance (GCD) for approval.
  • Post GCD approval, communicate with IT/MIS team to obtain Channels and Cards status and availability.
  • After analyzing data, share final scope with MIS/CSF teams to process blocking of Channels and Cards.
  • Ensure Pop-Up Messages are placed for exempted customers as per approved Memo from GCD/Business.

General

  • Complete any other tasks assigned by Line Manager.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Professional certificate in Fraud, Compliance, or Anti-Money Laundering.
  • Good knowledge of ADIB Business Banking products and services.
  • Good knowledge of policies and procedures.
  • Fair knowledge of banking practices, regulations, and risks.
  • Good knowledge of Ongoing Due Diligence regulations issued by regulatory authorities.
  • Knowledge of Anti-Money Laundering regulations issued by regulatory authorities.

Skills & Competencies

  • Computer skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Excellent proficiency in Excel.
