Role Purpose

The Senior Reporter is responsible for researching, reporting, and producing compelling and insightful stories that resonate with the audience. The role requires a gifted writer who becomes a subject matter expert on assigned beat(s) and helps produce multimedia content.

Key Responsibilities

Content Development & Engagement

• Develop and constantly sharpen understanding of written content that best engages the audience within the assigned Content Pillar, measured in terms of page views, unique visitors, and engagement on social platforms.
• Propose and enact second-day stories to follow news events.

News Coverage

• Assist the Breaking News Desk on quick-turn news events relevant to the assigned Content Pillar as needed.
• Become a subject matter expert on a beat area with ability to independently assess story angles.

Stakeholder & Network Management

• Cultivate and maintain a strong professional network within coverage areas.
