Senior Officer Operations Data and Analytics

Role Overview

Senior Officer – Operations Data & Analytics at Abu Dhabi Airports. The role is part of the Airport Management Centre (AMC) and supports Operations Planning, the Airport Operations Control Centre (AOCC), and the Operations Data & Analytics function across Abu Dhabi Airports operations.

Role Purpose

Develop and deliver end-to-end data, analytics, and reporting solutions that support airport operational performance. Apply data governance principles, independently manage analytical workstreams, develop advanced reporting tools using Power BI and Databricks, and serve as a technical reference point within the team. Focus on delivering timely insights, improving operational efficiency, enhancing data quality, and supporting informed decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Data Quality Management

• Lead reconciliation and validation of monthly aeronautical billing datasets.
• Identify, analyze, and report on operational performance metrics including On-Time Performance (OTP), stand utilization, GPU/PCA connectivity, passenger processing, and baggage performance.
• Serve as Subject Matter Expert (SME) for operational data and performance measurement.
• Provide technical support and guidance on complex data-related issues.
• Develop and maintain data repositories, data dictionaries, and source mappings.
• Document AODB data flows and system integrations.
• Ensure operational datasets are accurate, complete, and fit for purpose.
• Continuously improve reports, dashboards, data models, and processes.
• Identify opportunities to automate manual workflows.

Operations Data & Analytics Governance

• Design and implement automated data quality monitoring and anomaly detection solutions.
• Develop analytics solutions using Databricks and SQL frameworks.
• Maintain operational databases and Databricks environments.
• Ensure data integrity, security, and access controls are maintained.
• Design and optimize database schemas and data structures.
• Promote metadata management, data cataloging, indexing, and data lineage tracking.

Operations Reporting, Analytics & Tools

• Analyze operational data and convert findings into actionable management insights.
• Develop and deliver high-quality reports and dashboards.
• Respond to stakeholder data requests within agreed service levels.
• Build new analytical capabilities including AI-assisted analytics, predictive models, and automation solutions.
• Conduct complex analysis using data from AODB, FIDS, BHS, resource planning systems, and third-party operational systems.
• Monitor KPIs, identify trends, and recommend performance improvements.

Qualifications & Experience

Education

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Information Systems, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or another relevant numerical discipline.

Experience

• 4–5 years of experience in a data analytics or reporting role.
• Experience preferably within aviation or a complex operational environment.
• Proven experience delivering analytical projects independently.
• Experience integrating and analyzing large datasets from multiple systems.
• Hands-on experience with Power BI, SQL, and Databricks and/or Python.
