Role Overview

Senior Fund Account Manager – Private Equity with The Apex Group, located in Bahrain. This is a full-time position within the Fund Administration department.

Role Purpose

Deliver comprehensive fund administration services to Private Equity Funds, maintaining strong client relationships while managing NAV calculations, regulatory reporting, audit preparation, new business onboarding, and compliance requirements. This role requires involvement across all aspects of fund administration with a focus on operational excellence and client satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

NAV & Reporting

  • Ensure NAV calculations are reviewed and delivered within agreed timeframes, along with any client-specific reporting requirements.
  • Attend meetings where NAV calculations, financial statements and other deliverables are discussed.
  • Review and authorize payments via bank portals.
  • Review financial statements and related regulatory reports.

Fund Operations

  • Coordinate operational onboarding of new and take-on funds.
  • Calculate and process fund capital calls and distributions.
  • Monitor administration fee payments and chase debtors.
  • Coordinate regulatory reporting and audit preparation.

Compliance & Controls

  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and fund specification requirements.
  • Implement and refine SSAE 18 and ISAE 3402 controls on an ongoing basis.
  • Perform investor AML-related risk assessments and due diligence checks.
  • Perform periodic review of investor AML/LYC files.
  • Review FATCA/CRS returns and oversee filing process.

Audit & Risk Management

  • Manage relationships with external and internal auditors.
  • Manage and respond to audit queries.
  • Ability to deal with auditors at all stages of the audit process.

Client Management

  • Maintain client relationships and act as the senior point of contact with clients both internal and external.
  • Ensure client enquiries are answered in accordance with Apex's service standards on an ongoing basis.
  • Manage client expectations and seek and act on client feedback.
  • Able to present financial and business data to clients adding analysis and expertise.
  • Add value to client account planning.

Process Improvement & Collaboration

  • Ensure best practices are adopted and improve processes to gain efficiencies.
  • Continually identify improvements and implement efficient ways of working.
  • Create opportunities for cross-team collaboration.
  • Promote new ideas and services by applying knowledge of the industry and sector to create client value.

People Management

  • Manage and train staff whilst providing feedback on their performance.

Compliance & Culture

  • Act in accordance with the Apex Code of Conduct.
  • Deliver the Apex Client Charter.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Professional accounting qualification with a strong academic background.
  • At least 10 years' relevant experience in private equity fund administration.
  • Knowledge of accounting standards including IFRS, UK GAAP, LUX GAAP, and US GAAP.
  • Experience in managing people will be considered an asset.

Skills & Competencies

  • Ability to work to and meet agreed deadlines.
  • Excellent interpersonal and written communications skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a pressurised environment.
  • Capacity to problem-solve and ability to deal with complex issues.
  • Ability to work independently with minimum supervision and guidance; must be a self-starter and willing to take initiative.
  • Strong PC skills including Word, Excel and Macros in Excel.
  • Knowledge of eFront will be considered an advantage.
