Job description

Role Overview

Senior Finance Analyst, 1 year contract, Al Tayer Group.

Role Purpose

Provide support and advice to company management on all financial matters, ensure control and compliance of procedures and schedule of authority, maintain accounts and company assets, and accurately reflect the financial health of the company.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Advisory & Reporting

  • Provide support, service and advice on all financial matters to company management, including budgets preparation and presentation, management accounting, MIS and all other financial and non-financial reports and statements.
  • Review monthly and annual closing activities in accordance with corporate policies and IFRS and ensure timely submission of monthly management reports.

Budgeting & Forecasting

  • Liaise with all central and company departments for budgeting and forecasting purposes.
  • Forecast foreign exchange requirements and communicate to Head Office Finance and advise of any changes as and when necessary.
  • Project cash flows and advise appropriate authorities in case of likely shortfall.

Accounts & Consolidation

  • Consolidate annual accounts and ensure timely audit of the annual accounts.
  • Ensure that all accounting entries are incorporated in the company accounts after approval as per the schedule of authority.
  • Ensure that accounts are kept up to date to reflect all transactions of the business, including all reconciliation with bankers, debtors, creditors and group companies.

Budgetary & Asset Controls

  • Exercise budgetary controls, accounting and physical control as per laid down procedures of asset management.
  • Exercise controls on other purchases and services.
  • Ensure proper insurance cover on company assets in coordination with corporate finance.

Inventory Management

  • Carry out inventory control function including approval of orders, opening of letters of credit, retirement of documents, costing and pricing, insurance and review of inventory ageing to ensure that laid down norms are observed.

Credit & Receivables Management

  • Ensure that credit limit controls and procedures are observed.
  • Review collection and ageing of debtors.
  • Advise management on credit limits and provide MIS and exception reporting.

Payments & Cash Management

  • Monitor internal and external payments on a timely basis and exercise internal controls so that payments are made as per approved terms for goods and services supplied.
  • Monitor bank balances against the facilities to ensure that the company operates within approved facilities.
  • Ensure controls are exercised in cash collections, cash held and banking.

Compliance

  • Ensure tax compliance and return filing on a timely basis wherever applicable.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA).
  • 4 to 5 years post qualification experience.

Skills & Competencies

  • Knowledge and experience in international accounting practice in a computerized environment.
  • Familiar with International Financial Reporting Standards.
  • PC literate with good Excel knowledge and exposure to ERP solutions.
  • Ability to analyze financial issues.
  • Good analytical, numerical and research skills.
  • Good organizational and planning abilities including ability to deal with and work under pressure and tight deadlines.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and excellent negotiation skills.

  • Contract duration: 1 year.
