Job description

Role Overview

Senior Executive – Merchandise Analyst, Territory Office, Oman, at Landmark Group. This role maximizes Sales and Profitability in the Business by providing effective Merchandise Strategies. Planning and In Season management of Assortments and Inventory by Department and Item levels to achieve or exceed strategic targets set by the Business.

Role Purpose

To drive merchandise performance across the territory by developing and executing strategic merchandise plans, managing seasonal assortments and inventory, coordinating with cross-functional teams, and ensuring optimal stock availability and sell-through at store and item levels.

Key Responsibilities

Strategy

  • Formulate and agree on the Territory's strategic guidelines in conjunction with Territory head and concept team.
  • Manage and provide strategic guidelines to Store Managers on stock.
  • Propose Seasonal Strategies on Sales, Price point, Supplier, Brands, Size, Color, and Assortment Dimensions at Territory levels down to Class/Sub-Class levels together with the Buyers taking into account past performance and future trends.

Planning

  • Prepare a Post Seasonal Analysis of past performance at Territory and Department levels down to Class/Sub-Class and Item levels.
  • Prepare and Propose Seasonal Budgets derived and validated on MFP at Territory level down to Class/Sub-Class levels based on the approved Strategy to match the Financial targets set for Sales, Opening/Closing Stocks, Inflows, Forward covers, and Sales Margins.
  • Prepare Store Grading at Class/Sub-Class levels to determine the Width and Depth of Ranges for Large, Medium and Small stores with Order quantities where applicable.

Coordination

  • Coordinate with VM team to ensure season launch and new launch in stores.
  • Manage local buy vendor relationships: deal with local vendors for procurement, RTV, payment and new lines.

In Season Management

  • Monitor Orders being placed against Open to Buy targets by the month on the Buy Plan ensuring that Orders are placed timeously and according to assortment plans on a daily and weekly basis.
  • Conduct weekly forecasting on MFP down to Territory/sub-class level in order to identify exceptions to be addressed, including performance and underperformance in sales pattern, stockholdings, Forward Covers, and Inflows, and propose actions on out-of-line situations to the Buyers in weekly Department meetings.
  • Monitor Good and Bad selling Items to agreed parameters and propose actions to be taken on Reorders or Price Adjustments for Slow sellers on a weekly basis.
  • Ensure the availability of all replenishment items and conduct a scheduled review of Replenishment Orders to ensure availability and prevent stockouts on a weekly basis.
  • Check that all stock received in Territory is allocated to Stores and is selling; discuss out-of-line situations with the Buyers.

Store Visits

  • Visit Stores on an agreed frequency to be abreast with Product performance and trends.
  • Assess Store-specific requirements with regard to Quantity, Range, Price, and Customer base.
  • Report findings and out-of-line situations to Area managers and concept team and put together an action plan to resolve the situation.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Total 5 years of experience, out of which 3 years should be in a similar role and similar industry.
  • Graduate degree in Commerce or Business Administration.
  • Post Graduate degree in Business Administration.
  • Diploma in Retail discipline.
