Senior Engineer, Projects ( Projects Department (P-Go-4-1))

Role Overview

Senior Engineer, Projects at ADNOC, located within the Projects Department. The role supervises, studies, and provides technical support on all aspects of project management from conception to handover.

Role Purpose

Ensure assigned projects are completed in adherence to safety, quality, schedule, cost, and Value Assurance Process requirements through comprehensive technical oversight and coordination across all project phases.

Key Responsibilities

Projects Engineering

• Provide professional expertise in contractor selection, with emphasis on prequalification and bid evaluation.
• Provide site management support in relation to site arrangements and overall logistics.
• Contribute to development of detailed statement of requirements and strategy for implementation of project phases including FEED, detailed engineering, construction, and commissioning.
• Assist in development of tender documents for selection of Engineering Consultant, PMC, and Contractors.
• Assist in review of contractors' subcontracting strategy and pre-qualification of subcontractors.
• Ensure contractors' strategy, plans, specifications, methods, and procedures for construction align with scope of work and specifications.
• Review and coordinate contractors' pre-commissioning and commissioning procedures, plans, and activities.
• Coordinate and attend pre-commissioning and commissioning meetings with Operations and Maintenance Departments.
• Review contractor documentation, consolidate comments from concerned parties, and ensure contractors submit required documentation in specified format.
• Coordinate and provide necessary recommendations for Purchase Requisitions for material and equipment for free issue to EPC and Construction Contractors.
• Contribute to efficient selection of equipment, material, systems, work methods, and testing for effective project management.
• Supervise activities of assigned specialists during engineering and construction phases to ensure timely execution within approved budget and scope.
• Monitor progress of work performed by licensors, engineering, and EPC contractors.
• Identify bottlenecks and recommend corrective actions to ensure smooth and timely project completion.
• Review, study, and analyze construction strategy, plans, specifications, methods, and procedures to ensure value added and cost effectiveness.
• Coordinate value engineering and constructability reviews and project workshops.
• Review work methods, procedures, and installations in line with safety measures.
• Review Site safety audit plans and ensure timely and effective implementation.
• Review contractors' invoices and monitor contract costs in liaison with Cost Service.
• Monitor and manage project completion punch list to ensure all construction and commissioning activities are completed and accepted.
• Facilitate handover of project facilities to Operations Division for commissioning and start-up.
• Conduct risk analysis, Project Health, Safety and Environment reviews, and ATR reviews in compliance with Company procedures.
• Attend project-related meetings with Contractors, Subcontractors, Vendors, and other parties as necessary.
• Evaluate contractors' claims and provide recommendations.
• Negotiate and coordinate final settlement with Contracts Department.
• Manage issuance of Provisional Acceptance Certificate.
• Coordinate issuance of contract close-out report.
• Transfer all project drawings, catalogues, manuals, and related documents to Company Records.
• Keep track of warranties and defects liability periods.
• Raise NCR as required to EPC Contractors.
• Coordinate corrective actions during warranty and defects liability periods.
• Maintain and update relevant project information including trends that may cause positive or negative contract variations.

Supervision

• Plan, supervise, and coordinate all activities in assigned area to meet functional objectives.
• Train and develop assigned staff on relevant skills.
• Enable staff to become proficient and deliver respective section objectives.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor Degree in Engineering.
• 8 years of experience in engineering multi-disciplinary functions for design of assets and facilities.
• Exposure to preparation of Front End Engineering and Design packages.
• Knowledge of gas extraction and processing plant operations.
• Knowledge of production engineering principles.
• Knowledge of project management.
• Good engineering concepts and FEED experience.
• Knowledge of relevant applicable legislation and regulations.
• Knowledge of HSE principles and their application relevant to Oil & Gas industry.
