Role Overview
AtkinsRéalis is seeking an experienced Senior Document Controller to manage document control systems, information workflows, and project records for major high-rise residential, commercial, hospitality, mixed-use, and large-scale building developments in Madinah, Saudi Arabia.

Role Purpose
Ensure accurate document management, compliance with project procedures, timely distribution of information, and effective coordination between clients, consultants, contractors, and project stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
Document Control & Procedures
- Establish, implement, and maintain project document control procedures in accordance with company, client, and project requirements.
- Control the issuance, tracking, distribution, retrieval, and archiving of project documentation.
- Ensure all project documents are correctly numbered, classified, filed, and stored in accordance with document control procedures.
- Maintain accurate records of document revisions, approvals, superseded documents, and distribution history.
- Coordinate with project teams to ensure document revisions and updates are properly controlled.
Information Management & Systems
- Manage all incoming and outgoing project correspondence, technical documents, drawings, reports, and records.
- Maintain and update document registers, drawing registers, transmittal logs, and correspondence logs.
- Manage document workflows through Common Data Environments (CDEs) and document management systems.
- Assist in developing and maintaining project filing structures and information management systems.
- Support implementation of BIM information management and digital project delivery requirements.
Document Review & Approval
- Monitor document review and approval cycles to ensure timely responses from project stakeholders.
- Generate periodic reports related to document status, overdue submissions, approvals, and project KPIs.
Stakeholder Support & Coordination
- Provide document management support to project managers, resident engineers, discipline engineers, and contractors.
- Train and support project personnel on document control procedures and systems.
Compliance & Quality Assurance
- Ensure confidential project information is securely managed and protected.
- Support project audits and quality management system requirements by providing document control records.
- Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 quality requirements and project information management standards.
Project Handover & Closeout
- Coordinate project handover documentation and ensure completeness of records before project closeout.
- Manage as-built documentation, operation and maintenance manuals, warranties, testing certificates, and commissioning records.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Information Management, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline; or Diploma in Document Control, Information Management, Records Management, or equivalent with relevant experience.
- 5 to 10 years of professional Document Control experience.
- Minimum 5 years of experience on major high-rise and large-scale building construction projects.
- Demonstrated experience managing project documentation from design through construction, commissioning, handover, and closeout.
- Experience working with consultants, PMCs, developers, and contractors.
- Previous Saudi Arabia or GCC experience is highly preferred.
- Certification in Document Control or Records Management is preferred.
- ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems training is desirable.
- Certification in ISO 19650 Information Management or BIM Information Management is an advantage.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of document control procedures, information management systems, and project administration processes.
- Experience managing large volumes of technical documentation on major construction projects.
- Understanding of engineering drawings, technical submissions, and construction documentation workflows.
- Knowledge of project handover and closeout documentation requirements.
