Role Overview

Senior Construction Tech (Fab) at McDermott in Fab (Fabrication).

Role Purpose

Complete a variety of Construction assignments with limited supervision, providing technical guidance to colleagues with less Construction experience. Develop and apply proficiency in analytical processes to solve problems in atypical or infrequently occurring situations, directly impacting team work quality.

Key Responsibilities

Engineering Data & Materials Management

• Execute Engineering/Procurement/Construction data wrangling: query, structure, clean, and transform datasets for imports/exports, analytics, and reporting.
• Develop a plan for project material storage, handling, transport, and FTM.
• Supervise project material bag/tag and material reconciliation activities.
• Lead preparation for delivery of project ship loose items to offshore.

Equipment Lifecycle & Operations

• Plan, coordinate, and direct the life cycle of all equipment, incorporating effective maintenance and repair.
• Track equipment and its utilization.
• Support the operations team to prepare equipment budgets and procure potential new equipment.
• Establish a system to define asset life cycle and make recommendations for asset replacement.
• Monitor compliance with all asset-related procedures.

Procurement & Asset Optimization

• Partner with the Procurement department to evaluate new technology upgrades to current assets related to efficiency/energy improvement, maintenance cost reduction, and life cycle improvement.
• Monitor and manage all procurement, refurbishment, and repair activities.
• Ensure quality control of in-house asset repairs to maintain established procedures.
• Define cost savings and provide recommendations to management.

Qualifications & Experience

• Graduate or Diploma in Material Management.
• Over 8 years in the Oil & Gas, Fabrication, Construction, Marine, or Petrochemical industry as a systems admin.
• Proficiency in a range of processes or procedures through job-related training and considerable on-the-job experience.
• Familiar with Offshore/Onshore Engineering 3D design and detailing tools data management, including S3D, E3D, Tekla, and Spoolgen.

Skills & Competencies

• Hands-on experience with design review tools: Smartplant Review and Autodesk Forge.
• Knowledge of reports design, development, and distribution: SSRS, PowerBI, Tableau, and Telerik.
• Proficiency in MS Office tools: Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
