Role Overview

Senior Assistant Accountant at Emirates Flight Catering (EKFC). The job holder will be responsible for recording, monitoring, analyzing and reporting financial transactions and ensure alignment with company policy and established guidelines.

Role Purpose

Monitor and validate all regular and period closing accounting processes to ensure timely and accurate recording and reporting of financial transactions while maintaining compliance with company policy and budgetary thresholds.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Transaction Processing & Monitoring

  • Process, monitor and implement all accounts payable checks and ensure all disbursements are aligned with company policy
  • Validate sales transactions and ensure recording of received funds in various forms against recorded sales
  • Ensure financial transactions are in compliance with budgetary thresholds set

Reconciliation & Reporting

  • Perform account reconciliation on a timely basis to ensure accuracy and reliability of financial data
  • Monitor and validate all regular and period closing accounting processes to ensure timely and accurate recording and reporting of financial transactions
  • Analyze various costs in accordance with the approved budget and produce related reports to support and aid business decision-making

Analysis & Process Improvement

  • Analyze processes and recommend changes to achieve improvement, automation and cost savings
  • Contribute to revising work methods, forms, formats, and standards to improve operational efficiency
  • Coordinate with stakeholders in revising work processes and methods

Stakeholder Management

  • Respond to, coordinate and investigate requests and queries received from stakeholders as per agreed SLA

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, commerce, or equivalent
  • At least 4 years' experience in the area of Finance, preferably in more than one area
  • Sound bookkeeping knowledge
  • Knowledge of advanced Excel functions
  • ERP experience in Finance Modules
  • Process improvements experience
  • Experience conducting analysis and providing summaries and recommendations

Skills & Competencies

  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
  • Ability to work independently and with a team in a fast-paced and high-volume environment with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to effectively interact with employees and stakeholders
  • Understanding of VAT rules and application on transactions
  • Analytical ability
  • Problem-solving capability
  • MS Office proficiency
