SCS/CS Field Service Engineer Intern

Role Overview

SCS/CS Field Service Engineer Intern at GE Vernova, Grid Solutions. This is a 12-month paid internship program based at Grid Solutions office/sites, designed to develop early-career talent in field technical skills and on-the-job knowledge to serve client sites.

Role Purpose

Support field service engineering teams in the design, documentation, installation, and testing of Substation Automation Systems, Protection systems, and Cyber Security Architectures, while developing practical technical competencies in grid solutions delivery.

Key Responsibilities

Engineering Documentation & Design Support

• Support GEV engineer for preparation of Signal List from Schematics and other applicable documents.
• Support engineering and field service works for Protection Relays, Panels modification, protection logic diagram, GA/LA, Bill of Materials, Purchasing requests, Protection/SCMS/LCC Schematics, SCMS/Cyber Security Architectures, SCMS Signal list, Cable Schedule, Control Desk Drawing, and IEC61850 signal mapping.
• Support preparation of all Production documents including Wiring Table, Label list, Cable Schedule, and Interpanel wiring files.
• Support CT/VT Adequacy check and Relay setting calculations.

Field Service & Installation

• Support GEV engineer for Field Services activity of the Substation Automation Systems including DCS/SCS, RTU and Cyber security.
• Support the installation of the SCS system at the site including Fiber optic layout, PC installation at panels, SCS consoles wiring, installation, and testing.
• Coordinate and record tests for digital inputs, controls, measurements, interlocks, IEC61850 IED's, SCADA signals and SCS functionalities.

Project & Site Management

• Support all technical activities for assigned projects including EHS coordination and follow up, and Site works.
• Follow the project planning to ensure timely achievement of project milestones as per project schedule.
• Coordinate workplace EHS issues and ensure the availability of suitable PPE for T&C personnel, both internal and subcontracted.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Machine Power, Electrical Power, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Electromechanical, Mechatronics, Control and instrumentation, Energy Engineering, Renewable energy, Electronics, cybersecurity, or Artificial Intelligence, or a related field from accredited university.
• Fresh graduates up to 2 years of experience.

Additional Information

• Arabic language capability is a plus.
• Certificate in Cybersecurity or Artificial Intelligence is an advantage.
